A Mate For The Last Lycan novel Chapter 161

Chapter 161: THE RITUAL

Elijah almost lost his faith on the alpha and he started to think that Khaos didn’t trust them and was not fully thinking of them as part of his plan, his future dynasty, the future of the lycan’s kingdom, that’s why Khaos’s request to do the ritual caught him off guard.

"What about tomorrow?" Elijah tasted the water. He wanted to see if the alpha would refuse to have the ritual in such short amount of time, but to his surprise, he agreed. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

"Tomorrow then." Khaos nodded and then left the magic user. He knew that Rhett and Elijah had been anxious with his attachment to Zuri, thinking he wouldn’t have a heart to see it until the end.

Their faith on Khaos started wavering and the alpha pulled them back, playing them in his palms. He didn’t let them close enough to him to entrust them with top secret, but he kept them at arm length, so he still could use them when he needed their strength.

"What are you going to do with the food supply?" Dacre asked, he called Khaos over to walk with him, as they strolled to the town. A few royal warriors followed behind them, keeping people away. They could only stare at two powerful men from afar and bowed down when they walked before them.

"I am going to check the black market, the ice has melt significantly, a boat must be able to go through it." Khaos lied smoothly, it came so natural as if he was breathing.

"What if you couldn’t find anything there?" Dacre asked again. They didn’t talk about the dispute they had earlier, or even the fact that both of them knew Poor Silas was only a scapegoat because the main plan was failed. There was a tacit understanding between them regarding this matter.

Sometime, people tended to play ignorance to not rattle the boat.

"Hm. Good. But, I heard Great Lunar kingdom has their hand on all the merchants."

"I can find a way."

Dacre laughed and patted Khaos’s shoulder. "Of course, you are. You will always find a way, that’s why you are my advisor."

"But, apparently, you have someone else to advise you." Khaos nodded at Rose, who approached them, holding hands with two little children. "Why did you bring her here?"

"Nycta can’t have a long journey because of her pregnancy and I need someone else to accompany me." Dacre winked at Khaos, indicating there was something going on between the two of them, but the latter knew better. "Don’t you want to try her before I hand her over to alpha Logan? She is not bad."

Khaos had not yet replied that insinuation when Rose was already in front of them with two giggling little girls. They greeted the king and the alpha.

"I will take my in three days." That was a parting word because Khaos didn’t think there was anything else to say, but Rose actually stopped him.

"Alpha why don’t we have lunch together since you are already here?" Rose gave him her best smile and her face beamed when Khaos smiled back at her.

"I am afraid I have to decline. Zuri has been feeling down because she just lost her brother, so I need to be there to console her." Another lie and none of them believed that because just this morning they saw Zuri ate her breakfast just fine, she was actually conversing and laughing with Gayle.

Dacre had been asking why he changed his gamma and Khaos just shrugged it off, simply saying that Caiden was no longer capable of doing his job.
