"Someone is here to deliver a letter for you," Caiden said, as he handed Khaos a letter. The room was dim, with only the faint glow of the luminous pearls on the walls providing meager illumination for the dirty cell, where they put their prisoners.
Shawn was still breathing. He was one of the elders of the River Creek pack. They had been trying to extract information from him and so far, he had spilled all the information he knew hoping to save his life.
Little did he know, the moment he was captured by them, his life ended right there and then. It was only a matter of time before Khaos lost his patience and killed him.
"Luna Zuri's personal maid apparently is here to deliver the letter personally. What do you think it is about" Caiden asked, as he watched Khaos open the letter. He tried to peek from the corner of his eyes. "What is it? What did she say?"
Caiden couldn't read what was written on the letter, but whatever it was, it made Khaos decide to kill Shawn.
"Kill him." He waved his hand toward Shawn and Gayle immediately stepped forward and killed the old man, while Khaos walked away with Caiden right behind him.
They emerged from a dungeon that was located in the underground. The entrance of this place was a small rickety hut behind the alpha's quarters and only a handful of people knew about this spot. Khaos was there when Zuri came to visit his pack and now, he was also there when her letter came.

"Apparently, Alpha Khaos was the one who requested it. His warriors spotted Vermeyes so close to the town." Logan flipped the report that was sent to them this early morning.
"Nonsense! There are no Vermeyes on that mountain!" He hated monster hunting and now after four months, he had to return to that mountain again. "Why doesn't he go there himself?!"
"Apparently, at the same time, there is a problem in the Three Deadly Ways. The Great Lunar kingdom caused trouble at the border and he is needed there."
"From the looks of it, sending him to the three Deadly Ways was not a punishment at all. He got comfortable there."
Logan couldn't say anything about it, yet he only had one concern. "You have locked up the luna for three days without giving her food or water, don't you think it's too much?"
"I don't want to hear that." Xaden glowered at him.
This time, Zuri didn't refuse, she accepted it. Xaden helped her sit down and brought the glass to her lips. Her dry throat hummed in acceptance when the fresh liquid washed away the freewebnoveℓ.com
