A Mate For The Last Lycan novel Chapter 41

Chapter 41: THE RISK AND THE BENEFIT

Zuri woke up with a headache. She cried so hard last night, but at some point, she fell asleep.

They didn't do anything. Khaos didn't do anything to her, aside from holding her without saying anything. It was a weird night. Even when she remembered that she just killed Elder Erik and the fact that was the first time she killed someone, the only memory that stood out for her was that time she spent in his arms.

"Your mate has been looking for you."

Zuri whipped her head to her left, hearing his voice. That was a wrong move though, because it only amplified her headache.

"It's almost noon." Khaos added.

He grinned when Zuri immediately got off the bed and tidied herself up in front of the mirror, but once she was done and faced Khaos again, she looked hesitant to leave this room. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

"Can I meet with you again?"

Khaos looked amused. "We will meet again at some point."

There would always be an event in the palace, which required all the royal family members to attend. Definitely, they would meet again.

"You know what I meant." Zuri shook her head. She was being very bold now. "Can I see you again? Only you and me?"

"Are you suggesting we start an affair, Luna?" Khaos didn't seem surprised, he looked relaxed and calm when Zuri admitted to that. "That's too risky, but..." his words hang in the air. He stood up and approached Zuri.

Summer was here, you could smell it in the wind that blew through the window and hear it in the chirping of the birds outside.

"If the benefit is worth the risk. I will think about that." Khaos caressed her cheek and she leaned into his touch.

It was addictive to Zuri. Khaos' touch was different. Did she know it was wrong? Of course. Did she want to stop this? No.

Men in her life always took advantage of her, thus even when Zuri knew that Khaos was doing the same thing, at the very least, this was her choice.

She could choose to back down and stop it, but she didn't want to.

More so, it was not about physical pleasure, Khaos could get any woman that he wanted. She knew what 'benefits' he actually wanted.

"Why did you kill Elder Erik?" Zuri snuggled and hugged him, listening to his strong heartbeat. It was crazy, but she was obsessed with him. "You were sent to the Three Deadly Ways because you killed an elder from my pack. Why are you targeting people from my pack?"

Khaos hugged her back, caressed her head.

"Does it bother you?"

Zuri thought about that for a while. "No." He could kill anyone from her pack and she didn't care. Just like how they didn't care about her.

"So, you don't care if I destroyed your pack?"

Zuri lifted her head. Hatred and anger evident in her beautiful eyes. "Destroy them. Burn that pack to the ground if you deem it necessary. I would be glad to watch them turn to ashes."
