A Mate For The Last Lycan novel Chapter 61

Chapter 61: WHAT OUR PEOPLE HAD DONE FOR YOU

Mabel didn't expect this to be Zuri's reaction. She had been observing this woman for a while, precisely after she heard that Khaos had collaborated with Zuri to seal a deal. She knew about their trip to Lumicen city and how she managed to get ten ships for less than half of the original price the merchants quoted.

Mabel actually admired her until she realized Khaos showed extra interest in her. She was alarmed by that.

"You betrayed the two packs because you wanted to be with him?" Mabel was stunned, she had been wondering why Zuri would do that to her own pack, but the answer Zuri gave to her was completely beyond her expectations.

"Yes!" Zuri replied happily, as if it was something that she should be proud of and she could see it, Mabel must be thinking that she was crazy right now.

"You are not suitable for Khaos." She shook her head, still addressing Khaos just by his name. "You should go back to your pack and mate with someone else. This is advice for you."

"Unfortunately, I am not good at taking advice from someone else." Zuri was serious when she said that. She had already proved it a few times. Thinking there was nothing else to talk about, Zuri stood up, but Mabel did the same and grabbed her hand tightly.

"This is a warning, Zuri." Her eyes turned a few shades darker. "Stay away from him."

Once again, Zuri swatted her hand away. "I told you I don't like to be touched." She lifted her chin to look her right in the eyes. "And no, I will not stay away from him, unless he says so." Until now, Khaos had not told her directly that he didn't want her.

He was still considering it, though the king had blessed them, but somehow, Zuri had a feeling that if Khaos really didn't want her, there would be no union between them whatsoever.

She expected him to test her to determine if she was worth keeping by his side. She was not so naïve as to overlook the deep, dark secrets Khaos kept hidden from everyone.

There was no way someone like him would be content with just being the king's advisor. There must be more to it and if Khaos' true aim was to take the throne, she wouldn't even be surprised.

"I am not yet done talking with you." Mabel chased after her and in order to stop Zuri, she grabbed her shoulder, but this time, she didn't expect Zuri to claw her arm.

Blood dripped from the wound on her arm, and her sleeve was torn into mere shreds.

On the other hand, Zuri was also stunned, her reaction just now was based on her instinct. She had been agitated ever since she saw her 'mother' and taking the medicines made her a little bit sluggish. It wasn't news that she lost control after she took them, that was why she hated taking them regularly.

But, before they could react and comprehend what was going on, the door was opened and Khaos entered the room. His eyes found Zuri first and then Mabel.
