A Mate For The Last Lycan novel Chapter 74

Chapter 74: STAY AWAY FROM HER

Khaos pinched her chin to lift her head, so she could look at him and then kissed her. This was very effective to stop Zuri from her long rambling about how unworthy and crazy she was. How those people were right that something was wrong with her head.

"So, you need this medicine to stop the voices in your head, hm?" Khaos pulled away slightly when he felt Zuri melted against his kiss, but he still cupped her face. She was still straddling him, sitting on his lap.

Zuri opened her eyes and found those beautiful grey eyes that stared back at her without any judgment. Or probably because it was Khaos's nature not to show his emotion, but either way, Zuri was grateful that she didn't need to see something that she had been dreading of.

"Yes..." She replied with ashamed. "My mother usually got the medicine from the healer in my pack, so I thought it's a common medicine." Zuri peeked through her long, wet lashes. "I stole your golds."

Zuri took out two golds from her pocket and handed it back to Khaos.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to."

However, Khaos laughed at the expression that she made. "I know you took my golds. Do you think I will not know when someone sneaked into my bedroom?"

"You knew?" Zuri widened her eyes.

"I knew." Khaos then put Zuri to sit down on the sofa, as he stood up, but she stood up as well.

Zuri was at lost with his reaction, because this was not something that she expected. He was fine with it? There was no comment? He didn't even try to make her felt bad. Why there was no harsh word? Disgusted look?

"Are you... okay?" Zuri asked, she instinctively blocked his way. Somehow, she felt like she was going to cry if Khaos left the room right now. Her emotions were all over the places. The feeling of being abandoned crept in. "You don't think... I am crazy?" There was a lump in her throat when she asked the question. She dreaded the answer, but she wanted to know. It was unsettling to see how calm Khaos was to hear her confession.

Khaos actually gave some thought about it. He caressed her head and this gesture relaxed her nerves a little bit.

"I stick to my first statement. You are sick, not crazy." He pecked her lips briefly. "I need to go."

Zuri's heart sank when she heard that, because she thought, he was going to abandon her after he learned about her craziness. But then, Khaos added when he saw the anxiousness in her eyes.

"I will return for dinner. We will have dinner together."

And after that, Khaos left the room, which it fell into a deafening silence. There was this huge hollow in her heart that she couldn't explain.

The relief that she felt was very short, because the moment Khaos was out of her sight, she became agitated again.

Zuri sat down on the sofa again, as she covered her ears to block the voices in her head, as her mother, Xaden and now her father were sitting in front of her, mocking her.

They said; eventually, Khaos would abandon her. He would find someone sane, someone decent to be with him.

'Crazy.'
