A Mate For The Last Lycan novel Chapter 79

Chapter 79: MORE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ZURI TO TAKE

The only reason why Khaos didn't shift into his beast was because, it would expose his identity. It would cause an uproar and obviously, he wouldn't live right now if they learned he was the lycan.

The lycan beast was different from their werewolf form. They were bigger, faster and stronger. Their distinctive features couldn't be mistaken.

That was why, Khaos had never shifted into his beast, unless it was necessary or he was with his people.

However, despite Khaos couldn't shift into his beast form, he was excellent with swords, though he had never showed his skills openly, since he would be the mastermind behind all the attack or defense for the kingdom, because he 'couldn't' shift.

As someone, who controlled the defense of the kingdom and had hundred of thousand warriors under his command, this position benefited Khaos more than if he put himself on the throne.

"I heard the lycan beast is beautiful, can I see it?" Zuri looked at him expectantly. She made a mental note to look for lycan history. In the past, she only learned about it briefly, since there were not many books that talked about the dynasty aside from how it fell from its grace.

"I will show it to you only if you managed to get me back the golden stamp."

It was a bargain and Zuri didn't mind it. She continued eating and once she was done, Khaos took her to his study and let her learned about the business. He wanted her to take a look of it and expand it.

"Are you sure?" Zuri asked incredulously. It was a very big responsibility and she didn't think people around Khaos would be thrilled to know he let her knew and handle things more than she should.

Khaos chuckled. "I know my people and none of them as skillful as you to handle this." River Creek pack became the richest pack was a testament for Zuri's skill, because as far as Khaos knew, none of the three sons of alpha Roland were interested in business.

Zuri chewed on her lip. "What about your people?"

"What about my people?" Khaos sat on the edge of the table and picked one of the financial records, flipping it casually.

Zuri got the impression that they didn't agree with Khaos's choice for not rejecting the king's idea for the union, which he could do it and she told him what she was thinking.

"There would be a thousand way for me to reject it, but I only need one reason to keep you."

"What reason?"
