A Mate For The Last Lycan novel Chapter 92

Chapter 92: PEOPLE KHAOS HATED THE MOST

Zuri was sleeping peacefully, back in her own bedroom. Rhett insisted for the two of them to sleep in separate place when he showed Khaos his bedroom.

But right now, they were facing each other, the tension was very high and if Silas was awake, he would have cowered at the corner of the room. Silas didn't really get along with his siblings, either it was Zuri or Rhett, or even the second son, Declan.

"We can talk somewhere else," Rhett said, he glanced at Silas, indicating they could find somewhere with more privacy for their long conversation, but Khaos declined.

"What is Red Feather?" Khaos asked straight to the point. There were two crucial things he wanted to ask him about, one of it would be Lucas, but he was more interested in Zuri's strange medicine. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

There was a surprise that flashed in Rhett's eyes, but a second later, he smirked. "Apparently, Zuri told you about her illness."

Illness.

Khaos had a healer to check on her, but that healer assured him there was nothing wrong with Zuri, thus for Rhett to call it as an illness... there was something more than what he could see.

"Apparently, she trusted you so much." Rhett tilted his head. "Can you tell me how you won my sister's heart? She didn't look like herself."

"She needs her medicine."

"Yes, she is." Rhett nodded. He then walked toward the bed to check on Silas. He saw a few wounds had healed, but from the wound, you could tell that he was attacked by another werewolf. "Did Zuri do this to him?"

Khaos didn't respond to that question, instead he waited for him to explain the situation. It surprised him too that Rhett looked nonchalant. It was not a random guess, but he did know that Zuri was capable of doing that.

"She has a natural killing instinct, right?" Rhett turned around and then faced Khaos. "You are a good fighter, you must have noticed that too, so there is no use to lie in that matter."

"You didn't answer the question."

Rhett contemplated his answer for a while, before he found the right word to say. "She is... different." He shook his head, as if the word didn't sound right. "Why do you want to know? Why do you care?"

"She will be my mate. It's within my right to know everything about her."

"You are right." He agreed readily. "But, can you release my informant? He is a valuable asset for me. I can't believe, he was so reckless to be captured by you."

"Because you underestimated your opponent."

Khaos knew it wouldn't be easy to get the answer out of Rhett, in less than three minutes he knew what type of person this man was. To say the least, he was the type that Khaos hated the most.

Someone, who used to dance around the question. Talking too much, but actually, he said nothing at all. Rhett was responsive, he followed the flow of the conversation, but in reality, he didn't answer any question, instead he was trying to get information out of Khaos. Rhett waited for the alpha to slip some valuable information, because he confused him.

However, Khaos had seen through his trick. He had dealt with a few people like Rhett and this kind of person was exhausting the more you tried to dig into his bullshit.
