"Why don't we just ask Demi and find out?" one of the crew members suggested.
"Well…" Matt thought about it for a moment before saying to the staff next to him, "Contact the crew with Demi and tell them to let her know about the questions people have online. Then, ask her if she would like to prove herself."
"Alright." The staff nodded.
…
Demi and her team were still enjoying their food on the island. Although many people still couldn't understand her incredible feat, they noticed she didn't want to talk about it. So, they stopped asking any more questions.
At that moment, a staff member approached her and asked her to turn off her microphone. Then, she was brought to the side.
"Here's the thing, Ms. Demi… The people online have a lot of questions about how fast you traveled earlier, especially when it comes to your swimming speed. They're suspecting the program crew for helping you cheat in secret. So, Mr. Hahn is wondering if you would like to prove yourself."
The staff was being incredibly polite, and he was curious about the situation as well.
"Well…"
Demi thought about it and said, "If someone has fallen into the water and needs my help, I can swim to them without a second thought. However, I'm not interested in giving a performance just because you want it. I'm sorry, but people can suspect me all they want. I know I'm innocent, and that's enough!"
"Of course. You've traveled a lot today and even saved a lot of people, so I'm sure you must be exhausted. You should hurry up and continue enjoying your food. I shan't disturb you further," the staff said apologetically.
Matt and the staff were hoping she would prove herself so that the program would be more exciting. However, after hearing what she said, they felt ashamed. She did what she did to save someone, but they were expecting her to do it for a performance! At that moment, it was clear who was more noble!
Demi saved the program crew this time by doing what she did, and many people were able to keep their jobs because of this. Otherwise, if something happened to Connor and Thomas, the entire production team would be in trouble, and the whole company would be doomed.
