A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 137

"Please, Mrs. Moone. There's no need to thank me at all. Demi saved my life, so I'm just doing what I must do," said Benedict. With Sean's help, Benedict stood up and personally helped Margaret sit down again.

Thinking that they had had enough small talk, Seamus said with a smile, "We're here this time because we were hoping Demi could take a look at Benedict. We want to see if she can cure him completely or at least make him feel a little better."

Margaret was slightly stunned when she heard that. "You're here to get diagnosed by Demi, huh?" She suddenly looked awkward after saying that.

"It's not that I don't want her to do that. However, she really isn't skilled enough yet. I'm worried she might not be able to cure you and that she might make things worse."

"Mrs. Moone, I'm almost 90 years old. There's no promise that I can live to see another day. Even if Demi doesn't try to treat me, my life is already on the edge. So, if anything goes wrong, I'm not going to blame her for it," Benedict said with a gentle smile.

Despite hearing that, Margaret figured Benedict's family would blame Demi instead if anything did go wrong.

Meanwhile, Felix tried to get more information out of Margaret. "If Demi's teacher could take a look at him, it would be better."

"She doesn't have any teachers. I've asked her about it, and I think she said that she learned everything from reading. That's why I didn't want her to treat anyone," Margaret said with a frown.

When they heard what she said, they wondered if she still wasn't willing to reveal her identity. However, it made sense to them. After hiding for so many years, how could she possibly expose herself that easily?

"It's alright, Mrs. Moone. I know what you're worried about. If that's the case, I can get my family to make a promise in front of you. If anything happens to me, they won't give her any trouble! I think Demi will be back tomorrow, so we'll visit again by then," Benedict said as he stood up.

However, when he stood up, he suddenly felt dizzy and started falling to the ground. It might have been because they had been sitting for a while. Or it could also be a relapse.

Fortunately, Sean was holding Benedict's arm. When Sean saw what was happening, he hurriedly stopped Benedict from falling.
