Theo and Sierra arrived at the Gray Manor at 10:00 am. Upon learning that Edward was practicing his golf swing upstairs in his study, they headed straight up.
"Edward, we're back," Sierra called out brightly as she knocked on the door.
Less than half a minute later, the door opened, revealing a beaming Edward. He laughed, replying, "Come on in, Sierra. Let me know if my poems have improved."
"Dad." Theo frowned slightly at his words.
Edward froze for a second, after which he laughed even harder. "I keep forgetting you two are already married."
Sierra grinned as she stepped into the study. She immediately showered compliments on the poems that were spread across the desk, coaxing Edward in such a manner that he laughed uncontrollably.
Theo stood to the side, unable to hide his smile.
When Benson's family arrived and saw the warm scene before them, their hearts sank. Remaining rooted in place, Benson had his gaze fixed on Sierra. He couldn't take another step.
Sophie, who was holding his arm, immediately noticed. Tightening her grip slightly, she forced a smile, saying, "Mr. Gray Senior, what were you discussing with Theo and Sierra? We could hear you laughing all the way from downstairs."
"Exactly. What's the conversation about? Let us in on it, too," Janet chimed in. This time, she didn't contradict Sophie. Instead, she squeezed in beside Edward, pushing Sierra aside to take her place.
Theo reached out to steady Sierra, who had nearly stumbled. His expression darkened, and a trace of displeasure flickered in his eyes. "Janet, you're already a grandmother. Try to have some composure."
Janet was speechless.
Being addressed as old so suddenly caused her to almost lose control of her temper. Awkwardly laughing, she commented, "I got ahead of myself."
"Theo, Sierra, Janet has always been a bit carefree," Liam responded with a smile, attempting to smooth things over. "Don't take it to heart."
Theo shot him a cold look.
Just then, Sierra gently patted his arm. "I'm thirsty. Come get some water with me."
