Penelope answered Jeremy before Melody could. "Dr. Chesson, is the hospital management team finally taking disciplinary action against Melody?
"Her actions have affected our department severely. They really should take some action as soon as possible." She cast a glance at Melody, taking pleasure in her misery.
Melody was an adoptive daughter with hearing issues. As such, she didn't have the right to have all the good things happening to her. Someone like her deserved to reap what she sowed..
Meanwhile, Melody paid no attention to what Penelope said. She thought about what Andrew said yesterday, and her expression darkened a little. Raising her gaze, she looked at Jeremy before leaving with him.
Tiffany gave Penelope a sarcastic look. "Penelope, you've been someone's lapdog for so long that you're still rolling over, even if no one's here to give you a command."
Penelope's expression immediately darkened. She wanted to retort, but she bit her tongue when she saw Jason standing next to Tiffany.
That said, she still wanted to gross Tiffany out a little. So, she cast another glance at Jason, snickered, and said, "Tiffany, you're so focused on defending Melody the whole time that you didn't notice your boyfriend is really close to her.
"I saw how they came up together, walking side by side."
Tiffany had never denied the fact that she was trying to win Jason's heart whenever she chatted with Melody in the department. Penelope only heard parts of it and mistakenly thought they were already a couple.
Tiffany let out an exasperated chuckle. Curling her lips, she looped her arm around Jason's and said in a childlike, innocent tone, "Did you hear what she said? You're my boyfriend."
Jason clenched his jaw and glared at Penelope.
Melody and Jeremy had walked quite a distance away, but they could still hear Tiffany and Penelope bickering with each other. She was in no mood to care about them, though.
She asked, "Is the hospital authority going to take disciplinary action against me?"
Jeremy stood tall and straight as he walked, the doctor's coat bringing out his stern and imposing air. He looked ahead and kept a distance from her, his tone nonchalant when he spoke.
"Not a clue."
Melody had more questions, but Jeremy's face looked so cold and solemn when she raised her gaze and looked at him. So, she bit her tongue and said nothing.
The moment she withdrew her gaze, she heard his voice. "The hospital authority won't make you leave over something like this. That's not how things work."
