Chapter 28

Quinn was notorious in high society, the ultimate black sheep of the elite circles. Graham, with his strict discipline, had molded his two sons into outstanding heirs.
Quinn, however, was the illegitimate son of Nolan’s mistress. At first, Nolan refused to acknowledge him, but the woman stormed into Irwin Mansion, demanding recognition. Seeing that Quinn was a boy, Graham offered her a payoff and took the child into the family.
After all, Quinn was his only grandson. Graham had high hopes of grooming him into someone capable, but the boy turned out to be a disaster in academics and utterly clueless about business. Over time, Graham’s disappointment curdled into outright disdain.
Quinn was so used to being overlooked by the Irwin family that when the girl in front of him sweetly greeted him, he froze, momentarily stunned.
“Hi” he replied awkwardly, his gaze lingering on her delicate face.
With only a handful of family members present, the dinner started promptly.
Wayne and Winona, the twins adopted by Graham, kept him thoroughly entertained at the table with their lively back–and–forth, drawing hearty laughter from him
The rest of the Irwin family, long accustomed to this dynamic, remained silent unless Graham specifically addressed them.
The only sounds that filled the dining room were the twins cheerful chatter and Graham’s genuine laughter.
Simone quietly focused on her meall, doing her best to fade into the background and avoid drawing any attention.
Winona suddenly shifted the conversation, her tone sweet but carrying a subtle undertone. “Simone, which school are you attending now?” she asked, her gaze fixed on Simone with a seemingly kind smile.
The last time Winona had seen Simone was at Graham’s birthday banquet, where even a single distant glance at Simone had been enough to leave her stunned.
Now, sitting face–to–face, Winona could fully take in Simone’s breathtaking beauty. It was the kind of face that seemed almost unreal
Jealousy coiled tightly in Winona’s chest as she stared at Simone’s flawless features. But the thought of Graham’s obvious dislike toward Simone brought a twisted sense of solace.
Sanone, unfazed by the question, lazily lifted her head and met Winona’s gaze with a faint smirk. “Sogin High School,” she replied, her tone light
and casual.
Winona froze for a moment, clearly a bit surprised. In her mind, Simone was just a pretty face, someone who couldn’t possibly have much talent.
She never expected Simone to get into Sogin High School–especially since Winona herself had failed to do so after th
three tries. It was a sharp blow to her pride.
But she quickly masked her emotions, her lips carving into a bright smile. “Wow, Simone, you’re really something! Getting into Sogin High School.
must have been no small fest”
Winona’s words barely left her lips when everyone shifted their attention to her. No one in the Irwin family was a fool. Each person there was sharp enough to pick up on the smug tone in her voice.
Cyrus frowned slightly, irritation flickering in his eyes. Just as he was about to speak, Simone cut him off. “Yeah, I was surprised, too. I mean, I just took the test on a whim and got in”
Simone’s voice was callin, almost indifferent, and she didn’t even spare Winona a glance. Yet her words were so audacious that they could make anyone’s blood boil.
Winona froze for a momnem, her smule faltering She had always thought Simone was a pushover, but now she realized she was dealing with someone far tougher Struggling to suppress her anger, Winona forced a sweet smile and said. “Oh Simone, you’re really amazing
After a brief pause, she added. “Unlike me, who’s j

Sumone had seen plenty of Winona’s type–those sly, two–faced manipulators. After all, she’d grown up with one at the Spence residence. Hearing thus, Simone raised an eyebrow slightly and smiled. “Well yeah, you’re just a total loser”
As soon as Simone spoke, all eyes shifted to her.
Quinn raised an eyebrow, a smirk, tugging at his lips. He though Simone really had a sharp tongue, and he was thoroughly entertained.
