Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around! novel Chapter 234

When she saw how botched Ted's trick was, Yvette chuckled and walked away to talk to the rest of the Harris family.

"Did you just say that I can't get anything, Uncle Ted?" Charles smiled and said, "I’m the president of Harris Corporation, so I managed to earn a good amount of money from working so hard. Besides, I hold only three percent shares working for a bunch of pests..."

"You can't say that." Feeling uncomfortable after hearing the word ‘pests’, Ted said, "You just told me that you didn’t want to give up on the position of president, didn’t you?"

Charles put his hand on his shoulder and patted it. "That was then. I’ve come around now. I will marry a woman I like, and when she gives birth, I will be able to get more shares. What’s more, someone else will be taking the position of the president. I don’t even have to do anything besides sitting around and collecting money.”

Ted's expression changed unpredictably. No one knew what he was thinking about. After that, he said that he still had things to do and left in a hurry.

Charles stared at his back as he left in a hurry and sneered. He dropped the curvature on the corner of his lips and pushed the door into Master Harris' ward.

"What are you doing here?" Master Harris glared at him. "Get lost!"

Having said that, he grabbed a glass and hurled it at Charles.

Under Master Harris’ gaze, Charles caught the glass and smashed it to the ground. He even crushed the broken pieces several times with his shoe.

"What’s the meaning of this?! Are you trying to provoke me?!" Master Harris was livid.

Charles raised his head and said in a lukewarm tone, "The handover work will start tomorrow and a lawyer will come over to take the three percent shares from me, is that right?"

"Are you regretting it now?" Master Harris sneered.

Charles did not answer but asked instead, "Can I know who you are transferring my three percent shares to, Grandpa?"

"Who I choose to transfer it to is none of your business!" Master Harris harrumphed again. "It’s useless even if you’ve regretted it now. You should’ve thought of the consequences of your actions when you threatened me with a knife today!"

Charles tugged at his lips, a hint of sarcasm emerging in his eyes. "The three percent shares will be transferred to Justin's account. What’s more, Uncle Oscar and the rest have no knowledge about it, am I right?"

Master Harris' gaze sharpened abruptly, but he did not say anything.

"Since that’s what you’re doing, someone will find out about it sooner or later," Charles said.

Master Harris’ gaze was like a blade. He stressed every single word, "You told the rest?"

"I'm afraid you won’t believe me either even if I tell you that I didn’t tell anyone," Charles said, "There may not be many intelligent people in the Harris family, but there aren’t many foolish people either. I don’t need to say anything and they will be able to figure it out themselves."

Master Harris got up from the hospital bed, picked up the teapot, and hurled it in Charles' direction. The teapot was made of silver, so it did not break when it fell to the ground. It rolled on the ground clattering for a while, splashing hot water all over the floor.

Although Charles had ducked out of the way as quickly as he could, a few drops of water still splashed on the back of his hand, turning it red instantly. He could feel a burning sensation, but not once did he spare a glance at it.

"Should I ask the hospital to prepare more glasses and teapots for you seeing that you like smashing things so much, Grandpa?" Charles asked.

Master Harris coughed heavily and covered his lips with his hand. There seemed to be blood flowing out the gaps between his fingers.

He pointed at the door and yelled at Charles, "Get lost! It's useless even if you’ve regretted it now. You won’t get a single penny when I die!"

"I didn’t even say that I’ve regretted it. I’m just here to tell you that I want to break off my marriage contract with the Jones family. As for the explanation to give to the Jones… I guess I’ll have to trouble you with that," Charles said.

Master Harris glared at him hard. He was fuming so badly that he could not say a word for a very long time.

Charles smiled at him, turned around to walk out, then closed the door.
