Charles shrugged his hand away and said indifferently, “You’ll fulfill every request I have?”
Oscar froze and said nothing.
He had merely said it out of courtesy. Who knew what requests would Charles make, what if it was unfavorable toward them?
Aside from that, the Harris family was big. If Charles made a request, who would be the one ending up helping him? It would be too unfair of Charles to only make requests of him!
Charles’ lips curled up into a sneer. “Uncle Oscar, you don’t have to be so courteous with me. What if I ask you a favor and you turn me down, wouldn’t that be awkward for the two of us?”
Everyone was capable of using flattery and courteous means, but Charles did not find the need to do so.
Being blatantly exposed like this, Oscar’s face flared up in embarrassment. This nephew of his was really much more arrogant now that Master Harris had passed away!
“Alright, let’s not argue such little things anymore. Now that Father has passed away, what are we planning to do with his funeral?” Luna asked with a frown.
Right then, a clamor of voices sounded from the elevator.
Clearly unhappy being embarrassed in front of everyone, Oscar lost his temper and yelled at the bodyguards, “What’s the point of hiring you lot if you can’t even deal with whoever’s causing a racket! Master Harris just passed away and he can’t even go in peace!”
The commotion grew louder after his shouting.
“I think it’s Madam Jones.” From far away, Sophia caught a glimpse of a familiar figure who resembled Madam Jones.
What was the Jones family doing here when Master Harris just passed away? Not only that, there seemed to be quite a few of them too.
Charles looked over as well and furrowed his brows. He moved slightly and pushed Sophia behind him.
“Get the h*ll away from me!” Madam Jones brought her own team of bodyguards as she pushed her way through the crowd aggressively.
Mr. Jones followed beside her.
They had a group of reporters trailing behind them as well.
“What are you doing here?” Mr. Harris hurried over and held Madam Jones’ hands, just as if nobody was around them. “Master Harris just passed away just now, I don’t have time to entertain you today.”
Yvette sneered as she watched the two of them. She truly respected Mr. Jones to be able to take this so well!
“I don’t need you to entertain me, get off your high horse!” Madam Jones pushed Mr. Harris away in disgust and wiped her hands on her clothes. “I’m only here because Master Harris is now dead!”
Even being shoved aside, Mr. Harris was not angry. Instead, his eyes were filled with love and adoration as he stared at her. “Don’t lose your temper, it’s not good for your health.”
Standing aside witnessing this, Sophia found this utterly disgusting and she frowned as well.
How could Mr. Jones just watch his wife act like this with another man right in front of him?
Charles noticed her reaction from the corner of her eyes and he reached forward to adjust the coat around her. “We’re done here, let’s go home.”
He wrapped an arm around her waist and turned to leave.
However, they only managed to take two steps forward when Madam Jones lunged forward to grab his arm. “Wait, you can’t leave!”
Charles lowered his head and looked at her hand on his arm, and his eyes turned cold.
Feeling uneasy under his gaze, Madam Jones quickly retracted her hand.
“Do you have a tissue?” Charles turned his gaze to Sophia.
Confused as to why he needed a tissue, Sophia nodded and retrieved a packet of tissues from her purse, then handed it to him.
He frowned as he took a piece of tissue out and wiped it over where his skin had been touched by Madam Jones’ hand earlier. Then, he threw it into the bin in the corner.
He felt disgusted and dirty after being touched by such a filthy woman!
Snickers sounded from the crowd, and even some of the younger more daring ones could not help but blurt out their thoughts.
“Ha, Charles finds her too dirty!”
