Chapter 1226: Five
The military man felt it too. The searing heat. He was shocked like the others. But his pride had been challenged. There was no turning back now.
He was about to move. Then a voice boomed across the hall.
“We will start the Virelenna now.”
The military man paused. That voice, there was no mistaking it.
The voice of their star. Iron Crown.
He clenched his teeth, sent a cold glare toward Atticus, then turned away, his eyes shifting to the image that had suddenly appeared high above them all.
The gazes of Atticus and the other gods followed.
As he saw, Atticus’ eyes narrowed instantly. On the image, he spotted his star, Quiet Flame, seated at one edge, alongside three other figures.
‘Other stars,’ he identified at once.
His focus shifted to the one who had just spoken. A figure of metal and light, with swords floating behind him like rays.
‘Iron Crown. The star of Terrvenos.’
The names and appearances of the other stars were one of the few things Atticus had been able to extract from Quiet Flame. He glanced to the side.
He could feel the pride radiating off the gods of Terrvenos at the fact that it was their star taking the lead.
“I am the star of Terrvenos, Iron Crown. I welcome you all to my domain.”
He left a brief pause before continuing.
“I believe your respective stars have informed you of the reason for this gathering. The Virelenna.”
“It is a sacred concept to the lower planes. A battle where gods clash for the right to ascend. You are all here to take part in this sacred tradition, and regardless of the victor, it is a victory for the lower planes.”
Atticus heard a derisive snort from behind. Whisker. And he was truly starting to regret bringing the man along.
Iron Crown continued.
“But I bring good news. This Virelenna… will be unlike the rest.”
At those words, Atticus noted two important reactions. First, the other gods hadn’t even flinched. Second, among the stars, only Quiet Flame showed a reaction, his hands subtly clenched.
‘They all knew. Except us.’
Atticus’ gaze grew cold.
‘Looks like we’re more disadvantaged than I thought.’
Still, he kept listening as Iron Crown went on.
The star gestured, and the screen above expanded, revealing multiple figures with composed demeanors and varying appearances.
“These,” Iron Crown said, “are people from the middle planes.”
Atticus’ eyes constricted. And from the sudden coldness rolling off Whisker, he knew the man was just as shocked. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
“They are here to witness this Virelenna. And they come with promises. To the winning world, they offer the chance to join one of their factions in the middle planes. To receive protection, resources, and support… until your world rises to become one of the greats.”
