"Good. Sign the contract. Now."
The paragons hesitated. But each moment they did, Atticus’ pressure over them only intensified. Any more, and they would be turning to blood and gore like the last fool. They swallowed hard and signed.
"You will obey every order I give without fail. You will cause no trouble to any council you’re on and will only give good input that benefits the planet, never bad. You will never even so much as think of betraying the planet or alliance. You will keep your people in line and make sure none of them ever bullies or spreads rumors.
"For now, that is all. You may leave."
Atticus waved his arm, and every one of them vanished from the hall, leaving only him and Oberon behind.
Oberon approached Atticus with a smile on his face. "You handled that well, Supreme Ruler."
"Let me guess, you thought I was going to kill them."
Oberon released a cough and looked away, quickly changing the topic. "Now that they’re basically enslaved, they shouldn’t cause any more trouble."
Atticus nodded. Oberon turned back to him. "Can I ask you a question, Supreme Ruler?"
"What’s up?"
"The Vampyros and Dimensari have been acting up for a year now. Why are you interfering just now?"
Atticus went silent for a moment. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
"The coming Virelenna will challenge the god, me, and could also challenge the people. It’s very important that we all be united for the coming fight. We’ll need it."
Oberon nodded, his gaze turning serious. "Have you made your choice?"
Atticus turned toward him. "You’ll find out the same time as the others."
Time passed quickly. Atticus’ interference caused a massive shift in the new Eldoralth. As the enslaved paragons returned from their meeting with Atticus, they immediately got to work, having no choice but to comply with his words.
Meetings were held across all provinces where the Dimensari and Vampyros resided. Their people were forced into line. The bullying stopped. The rumors vanished. The bar fights ended.
In the councils where the Vampyros and Dimensari sat, they now followed the laid down rules to a tee, neither even daring to think of disobedience.
In just a short span, Atticus solved a problem that had plagued them for an entire year.
Jenera noticed the change instantly and approached Oberon without hesitation.
"Obi, do you know what happened?"
Oberon was used to the nickname. He smiled.
"Our fearless leader spoke to them."
"Spoke?" Jenera raised a brow before her eyes widened. She nodded slowly. "So it’s like that..."
"Yeah. We don’t have to worry about them anymore."
The people continued their lives, unaware of the looming threat. The Eldorians trained without pause. Atticus had yet to choose his champions, and none of them wanted to be caught off guard when the time came.
The world of Eldoralth kept moving, lit under the glow of the blue star. And when the day finally arrived, the leaders of the new world hovered high in the sky, gazes fixed on the star of Torrevenos.
The Eldorians floated in a straight line, and directly in front of them stood their god, Atticus Ravenstein.
