Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Alpha Gale

Swan’s cheeks turned red instantly. She was trying to hold her voice last night, but as that big thing kept on ramming inside her, all hell broke loose, and she moaned as loud as she could out of reflex.

She had always thought of herself as a very quiet woman since she wanted to keep herself invisible to most people to avoid trouble.

Now that she was put into the spotlight, she had the urge to kneel in front of Lady Jade and apologize.

Jade caught on to her embarrassment fast. She chuckled and consoled her, "No need to be shy. It’s your first time, and a powerful Alpha has great stamina."

"Alpha?"

"Yes, Gale is an Alpha before he becomes the King of Beasts," Jade replied, but that didn’t give Swan any answer. She was still confused about the term. Jade sipped her tea and explained more, "Alpha is a term for the leader of a wolf pack. We, the wolf beastmen, have a very rigid structure, consisting of an Alpha who is the most powerful of the pack, beta, gamma, and many more. But all you need to know is that Gale is an Alpha."

Swan quickly understood after the explanation. So, Gale was a small king before he conquered the lands.

What caught her attention was the term ’we’ that Jade used.

"Uhm... Lady Jade, does that mean you are also..."

"A werewolf? A wolf beastman? Well, the term is the same, but yes," Jade smiled.

"But you don’t have tails and ears. Gale also doesn’t have them..." Swan muttered. If it wasn’t for the giant wolf that appeared in Holy Achate palace’s yard, she wouldn’t believe that Gale was a beastman, because he didn’t have any characteristic of that of an animal.

"Well, most beastmen cannot control their appearance, but those who are blessed by Gods can shapeshift as much as we want. Let me show you," Jade said before a white wolf tail sprung up from her behind, and a pair of wolf ears replaced her current human ears. "See? I can do more than this. I can even turn into a full wolf as much as I can, and Gale also has the same characteristics as I do."

Swan marveled at the unique ability that Lady Jade had. She couldn’t help but murmur, "Your tail is so beautiful, Lady Jade..."

"Oh? You don’t find it weird? I heard that people in Holy Achate saw beastmen as cursed creatures," Jade asked in full interest. "You are the first human to call me beautiful. Makes me wonder if you are just being backhanded"

"Ah! I-I’m sorry. I-I misspoke..." Swan quickly lowered her head ashamedly. "I didn’t mean to insult you, Lady. I-I really think that you are beautiful."

"Relax, I’m not mad at you," Jade chuckled. "I am the diplomat for Beastmen kingdom, so I’ve seen and observed many humans, and I know that you are being honest."

Swan was relieved but still felt guilty as she thought that she had spoken too much.

A girl like her should just shut her mouth tight and listen, or there would be hell for her, just like what Aria told her back then.
