Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 112

"Hold on a moment."

Isaac led Daniel to the second floor and had him sit to the side before walking to the counter.

Soon, Isaac came back out holding an ornate box.

Daniel was a bit surprised. Even through the box, he could feel the fluctuation of spiritual energy.

"Mr. Hayes, this thing is quite valuable," Daniel said, narrowing his eyes.

Isaac smiled and placed the box in front of Daniel, gesturing for him to open it.

Without wasting time, Daniel opened the box. Inside was an antique wooden sculpture. It was quite old—fine cracks had already appeared on parts of its body.

If someone unfamiliar with antiques saw it, they might not even bother picking it up if it were left on the ground.

But with just one glance, Daniel could tell it was a talisman.

"Mr. Hayes, to be blunt, this is indeed a talisman. But it's damaged, and less than one-tenth of its spiritual energy remains. It's not worth much," Daniel stated straightforwardly.

"Daniel, you confirmed what I suspected!" Isaac exclaimed with a smile.

"Dating this sculpture is easy, but identifying it as a talisman is not something just anyone can do! You must be a cultivator, right?"

Daniel gave Isaac a look.

One thing was certain—Isaac was still energetic at his age. He was clearly a martial artist with successful cultivation.

But Daniel couldn't figure out what Isaac was getting at.

"Just get to the point, Mr. Hayes," said Daniel, not one for beating around the bush.

"Since you're a cultivator, you must have heard of the Immortal Assembly, right?" Isaac asked as he took out a token.
