Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 288

Cason's eyes lit up. "Damn! A sweet-looking lady with a feisty side? Now that's interesting!"

Before he could say another word, Margaret leaped toward him. Her shoe landed squarely on his oversized face and sent him flying backward.

The sheer force of the kick sent his lackeys tumbling down.

"Ms. Geller told me to never go easy when dealing with scumbags like you!" Like a rampaging T-Rex, she charged forward and mercilessly stomped on the fallen men.

She made sure to give the foul-mouthed thug from earlier two extra kicks for good measure.

"Ah, that felt great!" After everything was dealt with, she clapped her hands and felt utterly satisfied.

Life was good. Not only did she enjoy a fancy dinner, but now she had free practice dummies to warm up her muscles. What a deal!

Daniel speechlessly shook her head but didn't bother to intervene. He waved at her and said, "The Ferris wheel lights just turned on. Let's go."

"They did? Already?" Margaret's eyes lit up. She immediately abandoned Cason's group and dashed to Daniel's side.

Cason was completely sober by now. His eyes were glazed over, but his mind still struggled to process what had just happened.

Margaret had been smiling sweetly at him a moment ago, and in the next, her shoe was imprinted on his face. The pain in his body pulled him back to reality.

"Fuck! She kicked so damn hard! This isn't over!" He struggled to get up and staggered away with his battered lackeys in tow.

Daniel couldn't care less about them. He spent the rest of the night strolling around The Harbor with Margaret before they finally returned to their hotel.

Shortly after they checked in, Cason stormed into the hotel lobby with a group of men.

"Mat, I confirmed that they're staying here!" His face was still swollen and bruised. In all his years in Magden, he'd never been humiliated like that.
