[BL] Accidentally Becoming the Healer of the Deranged Archduke novel Chapter 271

Chapter 271: Beauty Is Dangerous

The golden light spilled over the figure curled up on the bed. The small body was hidden beneath a loose blue shirt, a size too big for his slender frame.

Even the duvet couldn’t hide the trail of red and purple marks snaking down his delicate neck before vanishing under the covers, leaving the onlooker’s imagination to wander—what sinful pleasures had this little beauty endured?

Darius, the sinner who had ravaged his angelic lover all night, was already entertaining thoughts of another round as he knelt beside the bed, eyes drinking in the sight of his sleeping darling.

As if sensing the weight of that gaze, long, raven-black lashes fluttered open, revealing dazed blue eyes that struggled to take in the world around.

Xion stirred, wincing as the ache thrummed through his limbs, most especially his lower body.

The movement caused the blanket to slide down, revealing more of that porcelain skin decorated with dense bite marks. The mere sight of it made Darius’ eyes gleam like polished emeralds.

"You’re awake," the Archduke purred, still kneeling on the cold floor, his cool fingers pressing against Xion’s flushed cheeks. "Did you sleep well, darling? Are you in pain? Do you want to drink something? Or maybe eat first?"

Darius sounded like a satiated beast, happily purring against Xion’s ear, The dazed healer flushed crimson, thoroughly overwhelmed by the flood of memories that danced at the back of his mind.

Pain? My entire body is falling apart, okay?!

Xion, both shy and exasperated at the satisfied gleam in those eyes, wanted to smack someone.

Yet, when he raised his hand, it fell back weakly, fingers curling pathetically as if surrendering to exhaustion.

Before it even touched the blanket, Darius caught it, pressing a kiss to Xion’s knuckles—a gesture that soon blossomed into a flurry of soft, airy kisses trailing down his entire hand and wrist.

"You pulled my hair a lot, you know," Darius murmured, planting another soft kiss at the center of his palm. "Are your fingers sore?"

Xion blinked, his cheeks steaming at the words. I did that, didn’t I?

What else could he do when those long silver strands were the only thing within reach? At that time, he just held onto them without much thought.

But with the grip he remembered, he must have hurt Darius. He should apologize, right?

"Is your head hurting? Do you want me to heal you?"

The words tumbled out before he could think, his instincts as a healer overriding everything else.

Darius’ eyes softened, his thumb brushing lightly over Xion’s wrist. "Worried about me now, darling?"

Xion blinked, cheeks puffing up indignantly. "I-I’m not worried! I’m just... being responsible!"

Darius chuckled, the sound rumbling low and soft. "Is that so? My kitten is so responsible, even when he’s sore all over."

Xion’s blush deepened, and he tried to squirm away, only for a sharp pain to shoot through his body. He bit his lip, eyes watering slightly.

The discomfort in his limbs brought his thoughts crashing back, clarity slicing through the haze. It was all Darius’ fault! This seductive demon was the reason he was in such a state.

If it wasn’t for Darius... doing all that to him, he wouldn’t have tugged at his hair so fiercely!

Just as he opened his mouth to scold, a cough rattled his entire frame.

Darius was instantly on his feet, scooping the bundled healer into his arms, patting his back gently. As the cough subsided, he brought a glass of water to Xion’s lips.

The warm liquid slid down his parched throat, and Xion sighed. "Thank you," he blurted out instinctively, only to remember he was still angry.

Beauty is dangerous, Xion thought helplessly, no wonder all those philosophers said so.

And he must be the kind of debauched person who would spend all his time and money just to see that beauty smile at him.

Much to his own mortification, he found the idea of spending everything on Darius didn’t sound bad to him at all!

Rather, it was surprisingly... pleasant?

How infuriating! The kitten pouted, frustrated by his own hedonistic desires.

Darius’ lips quirked into a smile so breathtaking that Xion found himself staring, almost dazed.

"You..." Xion hesitated before burying his face in the crook of Darius’ shoulder. "Are you... a beast?"

His muffled voice, paired with his burning ears, sounded like a coquettish whine. It made Darius laugh—a rich, unrestrained laugh that rumbled through his chest.

Wide blue eyes flickered up, staring at Darius with suppressed aggravation. But beneath that was something else—indulgence, trust. And, dare Darius say, even love.

How could there be someone like Xion? His sweetheart was far too gentle for this cruel world. It would be best if Xion were always in his arms. That way, no one could ever hurt him.

But his baby was so sweet. Even when furious, he clung to Darius as if silently demanding, You better hug and coax me, or I’ll get even angrier.
