(BL) Hunting The Field Guide novel Chapter 227

Chapter 227: We have another half an hour...(m)

Kellen wasn’t expecting the Captain on the other side of the door, but it wasn’t a bad surprise. He was actually happy to have him there, and when he shot the man a smile, the Captain seemed to melt.

Leaning in, he pressed a kiss against Kellen’s forehead, much to his embarrassment, but Kellen didn’t get angry at him. That alone was a small victory for the man, and Kellen watched as his chest puffed out. Gwen watched them, a smile in her eyes.

"With anyone else, I would be asking when the baby’s coming." Gwen teased, and Kellen glanced around the hallway, glad that no one else was around.

"Gwen!" He protested, slapping her arm lightly, his cheeks warm and she laughed. Even the Captain did as well.

"What? Isn’t that something I’m supposed to tease you on?" Her gray eyes sparkled as she looked over her brother and his partner. The Captain wasn’t able to stop his smile but he pretended to sigh heavily.

"Ah, but I am going to have to tell you some terrible news, Gwen. It seems that we’ll be trying for quite some time, but I fear that nothing might come of it. It will be devastating news for us, so I hope you brace yourself for the worst. We might just have to adopt." Gwen chuckled.

"Or, I could become your surrogate. I don’t really have plans to have kids for myself, and it would be a shame if the Woods line ended like this, so why not?" Kellen felt overwhelmed. He had never anticipated having this kind of conversation in the open, or to hear about Gwen’s plans to not have kids like this either. He felt like his head was swimming with all the new information.

The Captain glanced down at his pair, and smiled. He gave Kellen’s shoulder a squeeze.

"That’s very kind of you, but Kellen and I will have to discuss it in private. He seems to be overwhelmed." Gwen glanced at her older brother, and burst into laughter.

"Look at him! He’s as white as a ghost! No wonder you like to tease him so much." Gwen joked, shoving the Captain who laughed. Kellen did his best not to fall over while the two Espers pushed and shoved each other affectionately.

"I do care deeply for him, so we must keep it to a minimum. Otherwise, I fear I will have lost my place to sleep tonight." Gwen laughed even harder.

"Oh, Kellen’s such a softie that I doubt he’d do that. You might have to sleep on the couch, but you’d at least be allowed blankets." She said, her eyes sparkling, and the Captain closed his eyes, sighing.

"Ah, but I would like my bed privileges not taken away, so we should leave it at this." Gwen turned to Kellen, her eyes bright. She was like a completely different person compared to who had been with him only a few minutes ago. Thank goodness she bounced back so quickly.

"Hey Kellen, I think the Captain like likes you!" She pretended to whisper to him, and Kellen rolled his eyes. He glanced at Rhys, who blew him a kiss, and he shook his head.

"Yeah? Hmm. I’m not so sure. I might have to test that, just to make sure." Kellen teased, and watched as the Captain’s face fell, before his eyes smoldered into a deeper, golden shade. Gwen cackled as she headed towards the training room, and Kellen smirked up at the Esper he’d worked up.

"Might have to test it, hmm?" Rhys said quietly, and Kellen chuckled.

"Well, I have to make sure you don’t get bored of me. After all, 7 years is a long time." Kellen joked, and Rhys’ gaze drifted to Kellen’s lips before coming back up to his eyes.

"It is a long time. I’ve spent quite a bit of it imagining what I would do to you when I finally got my hands on you." Rhys stepped closer, and Kellen found that Rhys was backing him up against the wall. For once, Kellen didn’t mind, but was worried that he might stumble backwards awkwardly.

"Is that so?" Kellen asked, his heart in his throat. "W-What kind of things?" Kellen asked softly, and Rhys chuckled. It sounded dangerous, and Kellen felt the blood rush to his crotch. Damn it, he didn’t want to be hard when they had this conversation with Gunther!

"M-My cane?" Kellen asked, realising it wasn’t in his hands. Rhys glanced over to a chair in the room, and suddenly it was there. Kellen wasn’t going to ask too many more questions, and just wanted to feel the man on top of him. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
