Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO novel Chapter 309

Back at Winslow Estate,

Arwen was still having her lunch when suddenly Neil returned with the lunchbox. She eyed him but before she could ask him anything, Mr. Jones walked to him.

"Did Young Master complete it?" he asked. Although his voice was rather soft, given that the dining room was quite close to the living space, Arwen could hear him well.

Neil shook his head. "He didn’t," he said and then with worry written over his face, he handed back the exquisite lunch box to the butler.

"He shouldn’t be missing his meals like this," Mr. Jone said, "Skipping it like this will only make his old problems resurface." freewёbnoνel.com

"Old problems?" Arwen asked from behind. Her brows furrowed in slight confusion and slight concern. "What old problems are you talking about, Mr. Jones."

The old butler turned to look back at Arwen. Lines of worry seemed very clear on his forehead. He gestured for Neil to return first, who in turn nodded before giving a polite bow to the lady to leave.

Once he was gone, Arwen asked again, "Tell me Mr. Jones, what old problems you were talking about?"

Mr. Jones walked to her and slowly spoke, "Madam, sir had long suffered from stomach problems. He has always been very dedicated to his work, to the point that he often forgets to eat and drink. And this habit of his had once cost him almost his life. Luckily, he survived that misfortune, but since then he has had a weak stomach."

"Weak stomach?" Arwen was surprised. How can that be possible? He went with her to have street foods often after that first time and he never complained.

"Did he always have that?" she asked again.

Mr. Jones didn’t understand her reason for surprise, but anyway, he nodded. "Yes, he has been suffering with that for quite many years. But he had gotten better recently because of his timely meals and proportionate diet. However, for quite a few days now, he hadn’t been having his lunches properly. And if this continues, I fear that his old problem will come back."

Hearing him say that, Arwen understood one thing —every time they were going to have the street food, he was willingly staking himself for her happiness. How could he do that. It was not just once or twice, it has rather become very often recently. How could he not think about himself … about his health?

Did she matter so much to him?

The more Arwen thought about it, the more her heart filled with the warmth. Over the years, no one has treated her as preciously as Aiden has treated her. It was as if he had put her above everything and anything.

"Mr. Jones, has Aiden been missing his meals very often recently?" she asked.

To which, the old butler nodded. "Yes, he is." He then raised the lunch box in his hand and added, "Even today, he had returned the box, untouched. If this continues, this could turn up to be a big concern in the future. The doctors have clearly asked him to not skip the meals, yet he has become too busy to remember it at all."
