Ava took a step back in shock. She blinked her eyes a few times, no understanding how the shirt had caught fire.

In a hurry, she picked up a pillow from the bed and slapped it against the shirt to extinguish the flame.

When the fire went out, she breathed a sigh of relief. Till then, her yes also turned back to black.

She ran her fingers through her hair and exhaled. She wiped her eyes and moved to the desk.

She reached for her broken phone. Then she left the room

People outside the room stared at her. They began to gossip that she had cheated on fan. They judged it based on lan’s mood and actions.

There was no doubt everything was over between lan and Ava. lan was the one who put an end to it.

Ava walked by the crowd, lowering her head. Her legs were trembling, but she did not want to show them how broken she was.

Her hair was down, covering her neck. So others did not see her neck and the marks.

Ava left the campus.

She did not take a cab. She began to walk down the street.

Everything was over.

Her dream, her happiness, her perfect life, and her love were all ruined in a matter of hours.

Tears rolled down while she thought about Ian.

His brutal words played over and over in her mind.

His voice rang in her mind. Never in her worst nightmare had she considered these words.

When the passerby gave her an awkward look, she bit her bottom lip to keep her tears from falling.

She bit her lip so hard that she could taste blood in her mouth. She wanted to sit on the road and scream in agony from heartbreak.

Her footsteps became too heavy for her to continue walking. She could not accept everything.

“He is just mad at me. Maybe he will be fine tomorrow and talk to me,” she mumbled to herself.

She looked like a mad woman, walking on the street without any direction. She looked like she had lost all of her ways.

She stopped in the middle of the road, thinking where to go.

It was a trap for her.

The person would definitely spread it to the whole university to ruin her reputation, which would ultimately destroy her brother’s and her father’s reputation as well.

“What will I do? Because of me, they will lose their faces.”

At the time, all she could think about was Abigail’s house.

She hailed a cab and went to Abigail’s house.

She cried the whole way. When she arrived, there was no one in Abigail’s house except Abigail.

Abigail was shocked after seeing her best friend in that state. She hugged and cried after learning what had happened to Ava.

“Ava, why didn’t you tell Ian that Robin had not slept with you? Was it his plan to create a misunderstanding between you and lan?” Abigail asked.

Ava lowered her head and sobbed.

“I tried, Abigail. But he didn’t listen to me. He called me whore.”

She burst into tears. Abigail got mad at lan.

“How can he do that?”

Ava shook her head. Her love for lan was so strong that she continued to defend him.

“Anyone would do that if they were in his place.”

“What if he really meant it when he said he did not want to see you again? He can’t break up with you like that.”

“I will talk to him. I believe he loves me a lot. He can wait for me to explain. He said he would never let anyone else come between us. He only loves me.”

Abigail pulled Ava into her embrace.

“Ava, you love him so much. After all that has happened to you, you are still thinking about him.”

Ava was traumatized. She kept thinking about Ian. She even tried to call Ian from Abigail’s phone. But he did pick up any calls.

Abigail called Ava’s mother and told her she was going to stay overnight at her house.

When it was morning, Ava left for her home. She was desperate to know about Ian. She knew Gamma Harper was aware of Ian’s whereabouts.

Angela was not at home when Ava returned to her house.

She noticed Gamma Harper on the phone with someone. When he hung up, he noticed her.

“Ava, my child.”

“D–Dad, do you know where Stephen is?”

She did not ask about Ian directly.

“Stephen? He is out of the pack, preparing for a meeting with Ian.

“Ian? He is with him?” she asked with confusion.

“Yeah? Alpha said Ian had come to this pack for a night then went back.”

There was a smile on Gamma Harper’s face, which Ava noticed clearly.

“Dad, is everything okay?”

“Yeah. Alpha is very pleased today. He just called to share some good news with me.”

Ava gulped and asked,

“Good news?”

He nodded his head and replied,

“Ian ultimately agreed with Alpha and Luna regarding his Luna’s selection.”

“H–His Luna?”
