Chapter 164
As Vespera observed the man at the table, her vision suddenly went dark. A hand covered her eyes and spun her around.
“Don’t look at him. Wait for me over there,” Dominic told her.
He gave her a gentle push on the waist.
She felt embarrassed to be called out like that. Besides, it wasn’t like she wanted to look at him -he had been sitting there when the door opened.
Dominic made sure she sat down, facing away from them. Then, he walked toward Eden with a
cold stare.
“Would you button up?” he asked.
“I feel hot. Don’t you?” Eden grinned after witnessing that scene.
“Look at you–suit and tie, even buttoned all the way up. Come on, let loose a little. You’d be as cool as I am,” he added with a wink.
“Sure. Why don’t you rip your skin off? I’m sure it’s much cooler that way.” Dominic sneered.
“Why are you so aggressive? Don’t you love me anymore?”
Vespera sat on the couch, listening to their conversation. Her expression turned blank. Their banter suggested they had once been together.
But they both gave off dominant energy, which made it hard to believe. Two tops just didn’t work. A top always needed a bottom. She tried to categorize them, but it was impossible to imagine either of them as the bottom.
At the table, Eden gave up after seeing Dominic’s cold stare.
“Alright, alright. I’ll button up. Here, see?” he said while doing so. “Am I the best or what? Don’t I deserve a kiss?” he teased.
“Would it kill you to shut up?” Dominic snapped. He pulled out a chair and sat down.
They were com te opposites. How they became friends remained one of life’s biggest mysteries.
As Eden fastened the last button, he finally looked more presentable. If he had put on his coat and tie, he could’ve passed as a company president.
“Let’s eat. We’ll talk while we eat,” Eden said. Then, with a playful glance toward Vespera, he asked, “Should we ask Ms. Gildon to join us?”
“No,” Dominic replied flatly.

Are you sure you have the heart to let her starve?” he teased.
Dominic shot him a look that told him to shut up His reaction only atnused Eden more. At the end of the day, it was a one–sided crush.
After exchanging pleasantries, they were nearly done with their meal when the topic turned. serious. As they wrapped up the conversation, Eden suddenly remembered something.
“What about Vortex Group? How do you plan to proceed?” he asked.
“Why are you suddenly interested?” Dominic asked flatly.
At the mention of the Sowles, Vespera perked up and listened closely.
Eden leaned back in his chair. “Mrs. Sowle and my aunt happen to be cousins,” he explained
“What a coincidence,” Dominic said, raising an eyebrow.
“A few days ago, she paid us a visit. I’m sure she was there to talk about Vortex Group.
“Was she expecting the Locke family to help her out? Since when did they put your aunt in charge?” Dominic scoffed.
He was well aware of the Locke family’s internal affairs. The company was led by Eden’s uncle,
Theodore Locke.
