First Legendary Dragon: Starting With The Limitless System novel Chapter 150

He scratched his cheek and modestly said, "Honestly, I wasn't sure if it would work. I just followed what my heart told me and it felt like chanting would slow me down more than help."

Selene gave a knowing smile, her eyes twinkling gently. "That's because your affinity rune is truly exceptional. It allows for near-instant synchronization with your spells, making chanting optional. However, never dismiss chanting entirely. Higher-tier spells will require chanting if you aren't well-versed in that spell."

Orion nodded seriously, understanding the underlying caution in her advice. "Of course, Grandma. I'll keep that in mind. Chanting for complex spells, especially during initial learning phases, sounds sensible."

"Good lad," Eldric chimed in, placing a comforting hand on Orion's other shoulder. "Your progress is astounding, but take things gradually. Magic can be dangerous if rushed. That said, I'm confident you'll continue to surpass all our expectations."

Orion grinned warmly at his grandfather, "Thank you, Grandpa. I promise to keep my feet on the ground."

Selene gently smiled, looking at the warm interaction of the two of them, "We know you will, Orion. Continue practicing daily, and your mastery will soon be unmatched in the entire academy."

Orion chuckled at her enthusiasm, but also deeply appreciative of their constant support and guidance. After chatting with the two of them for a while longer, he glanced towards the sky, noting the rising sun and the increasing brightness of the morning.

"Well, Grandma, Grandpa, thank you again for watching over my first spell casting. It really means a lot." Orion spoke sincerely, his voice warm. "But now, I should head to the Academy. I want to do more work on the club and see what I can learn."

Selene chuckled gently, nodding in understanding. "Of course, dear. Do share your accomplishments with your friends. I'm sure they'll be just as amazed as we are."

Eldric added with a teasing smirk, "Indeed! Imagine the princess's reaction—our Orion, the prodigy!"

Orion rolled his eyes playfully, shaking his head in amusement. "I haven't even told them I already formed an affinity rune yet. I don't know how they will react once they find out."

Eldric's mouth twitched, "You brat. Are you trying to pretend to be a pig to eat the tiger?"

Orion playfully shook his head, "I have yet to meet a tiger at the academy."

Selene softly laughed at their banter and gently said, "Have fun at the Academy today, dear. And don't forget to eat properly."

Orion nodded his head and waved his hand while walking out.

He walked briskly beside the mansion and headed for the front with light steps, his heart still warm from all the praises of Selene and Eldric.

[Hehe, looks like Master quite enjoyed Grandpa and Grandma's praises. (≧∇≦)/]

Orion's lips curled into a bittersweet smile. 'A barefooted man longs for slippers. The one with slippers wants shoes. The one with shoes dreams of wings. No matter where we stand, we always reach for what's just out of grasp…'

His gaze softened as warm memories of the breakfast lingered in his heart. 'In my last life, I had no real family—just cold eyes and greedy hands waiting for my fall. But now… I have this. Maybe it's okay to stop chasing futile dreams for a moment, and simply treasure what I've finally found.'

He shook his head with a smile seeing Lumi's reaction, "Anyways, enough time has passed, I should go and look for Uncle Edgar. If no one else, I want to share my progress with him."

As he came in front of the mansion's main door, Orion noticed the familiar sight of Edgar and Lucan waiting near the grand obsidian carriage.

Edgar stood calmly as always, while Lucan leaned casually against the carriage with his easy-going demeanor and his pebble.
