After finishing breakfast, Orion stood up, excusing himself politely, "I'll head to the library now. There's still a lot of interesting stuff I want to read."
Eldric nodded approvingly, stroking his beard, "Very good. Remember, if you have any questions, come find me anytime."
Selene chimed in lovingly, "Or you can ask Grandma, too. We'll always be here to help you."
Orion chuckled softly, "Thank you both. I'll definitely keep that in mind."
He walked away with Rina and Liora following closely behind him. After arriving at the library, Orion leisurely began his studies, delving deeply into books on magic theories, elemental affinities, mana channels, political systems, and the history of Thunderpeak Kingdom, among other books.
Rina and Liora left to have breakfast before coming back and occasionally assisted him, bringing snacks, tea, or additional books upon his request.
Just like that, days continued to pass comfortably. Every morning, Orion would wake up, bathe, eat breakfast with Eldric and Selene, and spend the rest of the day immersing himself in study at the library.
...
"It's been over two weeks since I arrived here, huh," Orion muttered to himself, looking at the dim sky through the window.
During this period of time, Reynold, Amelia, and Arya had come to visit once more, where they spent the entire afternoon in the garden chatting and playing. Orion and Arya's relationship improved as well, and they became good friends.
He smiled lightly, remembering her, "Mmm, I was wondering why a noble's daughter like her was so shy and naive. Who would have thought that Reynold was so protective of her that she doesn't even have friends to play with and basically grew up alone?"
But his expression soon turned serious, "Now I have a basic grasp of this kingdom. But I haven't met any nobles from whom I can gain direct knowledge about this place. I only know the number of Noble houses and their surnames. Some noble houses have changed since the beginning of the Kingdom, but the Three Duke Houses have remained standing like pillars supporting the heaven."
However, his expression soon relaxed, "Well, it matters little to me. Once I'm inside the academy, my rank will soar like a meteor due to my talent. It won't be long before I won't even have to look at the noble houses."
'Elder Dragon has strength equal to a Kingdom, from what I have learned from my inheritance. But for that, I need to live for 500 years. I might as well cultivate like a human and reach that rank within years.' He thought to himself. Some things were there that he didn't want to speak aloud.
Eldric and Selene were both high-level mages, not to mention the other staff of the mansion. He didn't want to risk letting others know of his Dragon Heritage just yet.
'I wonder how they will react after knowing I am a True Dragon in human form.' He exhaled a sigh before closing his eyes.
He didn't know it, but the only reason Eldric and Selene hadn't figured out his True Dragon identity was due to his Perfect Human lineage. Otherwise, no matter how good a True Dragon is at disguising itself, mages at the level of Eldric can still figure out its origins.
'Haah...I will think about it when the time comes, for now...' He peacefully fell asleep while thinking about which books to read tomorrow.
...
"Mmm..." Orion's eyes fluttered open, feeling something hard beneath him.
Confused, he slowly sat up, blinking repeatedly as his vision cleared up. The next instant, his jaw dropped open in sheer disbelief.
