Fiora, on the other hand, calmed down after Orion moved back to his place. She gathered all her courage and this time only focused on the summoning circle instead.
She gathered mana again and activated the contract that she had formed inside her Sea of Consciousness before guiding it out and making dense, complex runes in the air.
The summoning circle rotated before flipping and dropping to the ground. The temperature of the tent rose as a small rift appeared on top of the circle.
Orion and Rina looked intently inside the rift, while Orion wondered what type of beast would emerge.
Boom!
The summoning circle exploded with a puff of flames, which swiftly extinguished to reveal a majestic figure, one wreathed in flames and seemed to be the god of everything—a cat.
It looked down on both Orion and Rina before jumping towards Fiora’s lap. It lay there and rubbed her face with her hands.
’...Did this fucker just look down upon me?’ Orion’s lips twitched as he focused his gaze on the feline beast, slightly activating his Dragon Might.
The cat jumped up and looked left and right—terrified. It couldn’t understand where it felt that primal fear from. As if an apex predator had targeted it.
"Ehh, wh-what happened, pawpaw?" Fiora looked at the cat and gently hugged her back into her embrace, softly patting her sleek orange fur.
Orion quietly dissipated his Dragon Might, looking towards the cat with a pitying gaze. ’Pawpaw? Really? I would have committed suicide out of shame if someone named me that.’
"Cough, is this your contracted beast? It seemed to be a Tier 1 beast, huh?" He curiously asked.
Rina nodded her head. "Yes, Master, she contracted with her a couple of weeks ago. We had both practiced together after we had awakened and formed our respective affinity runes. But she beat me to it. And she is a Feline Tier 1 beast from the Fire Spirit World."
"One of the five main Spirit Elemental Planes, huh? That means her potential must be quite high. You struck gold, Fiora. Looks like your talent with Spirit Arts is quite high." He praised her without holding back.
Fiora blushed and lowered her head, softly patting pawpaw to hide her shy face.
"Nuuu, master! Praise me as well!" Rina couldn’t take it anymore and simply asked.
"Huh? Why?" He looked towards Rina and speechlessly asked.
"I don’t know anything." Rina huffed and turned her face to the side.
He speechlessly shook his head. ’Looks like she feels I’m ignoring her and focusing more on Fiora.’ He inwardly heaved a sigh.
Orion smiled and said with a soft tone, "Actually, Rina, I think you are equally as amazing as Fiora as well."
Rina blinked, turning to face Orion with wide, curious eyes.
"You have been trying your hardest despite not having formed a contract yet. And not to mention your impressive control over your emotions."
He leaned back slightly, looking at her with a charming smile. "But the thing I like the most about you? You believed in Fiora and encouraged her when she was doubting herself. I don’t think she would have even tried to summon the beast had you not edged her."
"Those are admirable traits, if anything. So yes, you are amazing in yourself." He finished saying with a genuine and kind voice.
Rina stared at him, slightly stunned. She hadn’t expected him to say so many things at once. Now she didn’t know how to react, slowly a beautiful blush crept up on her cheeks, reaching her eyes.
Yet a soft smile formed on her face, and a burden she didn’t know she was feeling in her heart dissipated.
