In just a split second, the phoenix flames surged and engulfed every trace of the black malice in the domain, setting the sky within the domain ablaze.

The malice, once in the form of demonic souls, now howled and writhed as the golden light and phoenix flames scorched them. It was melted back into its original viscous state.

Just when Louise thought the phoenix flames would devour all the malice, a sudden movement caught her eye.

Shannon frowned and pondered a new strategy when she heard Louise say, "Focus on burning. I'll deal with these."

But no matter how confident she sounded, once the malice latched on, it was hard to shake off. Though Shannon had cloaked Louise in protective golden light earlier, the constant impacts had worn it thin.
