Following Kai's question, Scott and Hector diverted their gazes to Cecily. Meanwhile, Scott couldn't believe what he had heard.
Cecily's expression similarly shifted into terror. "T-The deceased's hair? How is that possible?" Her reaction was prompt, rendering it hard to decipher whether her horror was real or fake.
"You didn't know?" Scott asked.
Her eyes immediately reddened at his question, and her voice came out shaky. "Why would I keep a doll like this in our house if I knew?"
Then, she turned to Kai. "Are you sure you're not mistaken? I customized this doll from a popular studio. Why would they use a deceased person's hair?"
Having been questioned, Kai huffed and refuted, "The scent of hair from the dead differs from the living. How could I be wrong?"
As though finally believing his words, Cecily gazed at the doll with a newfound fear. Scott took in her reaction and couldn't help but doubt himself for being too critical and suspicious of her.
He instinctively turned to Hector, who subsequently said, "If you were unaware, it means it was the studio's problem. Give me their name and address. I'll put the doll under inspection and confront the studio. They should have a record of the customization requirements."
Cecily discreetly clenched her fists, yet tears began rolling down her face as she looked at Hector "Don't you believe me, Hector?"
He smiled faintly at her, as usual. "I must get to the bottom of things now that something impure has entered our house," he said, deliberately pausing before adding, "Relax. This isn't against you."
