Cecily had no idea that her small gesture was noticed.
Seeing that Linda had silently accepted the divorce, George said nothing and showed no further emotion.
Then, he spoke in a deep tone, "I won't interfere since you both have made your decision. But I don't want to see this matter being publicized too much."
His final words were directed at Alex. Both Alex and Linda were in the entertainment industry, and journalists eagerly latched onto any news, especially divorces.
Even before they had officially been married back then, rumors about their relationship had long been circulating.
If news of their divorce got out, it would undoubtedly stir a media frenzy.
Alex nodded in understanding. "We won't make a public announcement for now. Eva is still young, and I'm worried she won't be able to handle the news.
"I discussed it with Linda, and we decided she'll temporarily stay abroad under the pretext of furthering her studies. Then, we'll announce the divorce after a few years."
This idea was a suggestion by Adam, who no longer wanted to see Linda around. The rest of the family including George approved of Alex's plan, and Marie had nothing more to say.
They swiftly settled Alex and Linda's divorce, while the younger Jensens were just involved in the process. Hank felt the most unsettled. He wanted nothing more than to return to his room once the divorce was resolved.
Cecily wanted to follow, but before they could leave, Hector spoke in a pleasant voice, "Since everyone is gathered today, I have something I'd like to formally bring up and seek the family's opinion on."
