Hiding My Twin Pups From their Alpha Dad novel Chapter 53

Chapter 53

Apr 1, 2025

Felicia’s head throbbed like a raw wound as she slowly regained consciousness, her senses crawling back to life. The air around her was stale and damp, reeking of mold and blood, making her stomach turn. As she struggled to open her eyes, the darkness seemed to pulse with a malevolent energy, as if it was alive and watching her.

She let out a soft moan, her voice barely audible, as she blinked away the blurry vision. Her gaze fell upon her sons, Danny and Max, cuffed to the wall beside her. Her heart wrenched in her chest, seeing their small bodies trussed up like animals. Danny’s eyes were red-rimmed from crying, his little hands tugging futilely at the metal cuffs, while Max’s face was smeared with dirt and tears.

Felicia’s throat constricted as she forced words past the lump in her throat.

“I’m here, babies. I’m here with you.”

Danny nodded quickly, his face a mix of relief and fear, as Max whimpered, “Mommy, you’re awake!”

The memory of Danielle’s blow to her head came flooding back, and Felicia’s jaw clenched against the pain.

She swallowed the panic rising in her chest, steeling herself to focus. She had to get them out of this hellhole. She had to be strong for them. The damp cold seeped into her bones, making her shiver, as she waited for what felt like an eternity. Danny and Max huddled together, their small bodies shaking from exhaustion.

The silence was shattered by the sound of heavy footsteps outside the door. Felicia’s head snapped up, her pulse racing like a wild animal. The door swung open, casting a harsh light into the dark room. She squinted against the brightness, her breath catching as Lucien stepped inside. Her heart leapt with hope, thinking he had finally come to rescue them.

“Oh my God, Lucien, you found us!” she cried out, her eyes burning with desperation.

She struggled against her chains, her wrists aching.

“Please! I’m tied up—help us!” Danny and Max looked up at Lucien, their small eyes filled with hope, as they whispered, “Uncle Lucien! Help us, please!”

But Lucien just stood there, his face a mask of indifference, his eyes cold and unyielding. Felicia’s stomach twisted into a knot as he spoke a single, devastating word: “No.”
