Chapter 7
Harlan clutched the papers with so much force that the veins on the back of his hand throbbed.
The divorce papers were crumpled at once.
He immediately picked up his phone, wanting to talk to me properly.
But the messages on the phone stunned him.
He clicked on the audio clip and then heard Bonnie triumphantly admit. she was never confused.
Then he saw my name on that abortion procedure form.
His face turned pale at once.
He quickly typed, “Fiona, what the heck?”
“You were pregnant? Why didn’t you tell me?”
“You dared to get an abortion? If you dared to go through with it, we’re
done!”
Yet, the system alert showed his messages were rejected.
Furious, he smashed his phone to the floor, panting while muttering, “No. way. This is impossible.”
He found it hard to believe–the doctor had said I couldn’t get pregnant. How come I was pregnant?
There was one thing he forgot–the doctor didn’t say for sure that I had zero chance of getting pregnant.

Harlan’s mind was a mess as it kept rewinding the smile on my face as I left with my suitcase.
I wasn’t smiling because of my love for him; it was because I had already put all this behind me.
He picked up his phone and was about to head to the airport to look for
- me.
Meanwhile, Bonnic was lying on the couch with her phone, searching for the best hotel for a wedding.
Upon seeing him, she stood up and showed him her dream wedding dress.
She said, “I’ll look amazing in this at our wedding. You know what? I think we should hold a wedding as soon as possible. I’m showing.”
“Our wedding?”
Then she cursed while pointing at his nose, “What are you saying? I’m pregnant with your baby, OK? Are you suggesting you’re gonna walk away from me?
