Regina knew that she might not be the smartest person in any room, but she possessed one skill few others

had–reading people.

Micah’s silence could mean many things–anger, acquiescence, exhaustion, disinterest.

Norris scrambled out of the car as well. ‘Boss, I’m coming with you.‘

‘But Micah, what about me?‘ Regina stuck her head out the open window.

Micah handed his laptop case to his assistant, ignoring the woman.

He couldn’t tolerate spending another second in the car with Regina.

For a second back there, Micah was tempted to shove Regina out of the moving car but managed to check

himself.

Regina tried to get out of the car. ‘Micah, come on. I thought you were coming with me.‘

‘I have work to do. Bryant will take you to the hotel.‘
