The shifting expressions resulted in a somber disposition from Drake as well. He could not imagine that a level four paragon had killed the person he sent to kill them. News of Damian's demise was likely circulating across the Starry Sky Battlespace. It was bad enough that his goal was not achieved—what made it worse was the possibility that the monsteroids were already becoming the subject of mockery.
Following those thoughts, his handsome features darkened with a cold resolve. His gaze carried hints of murderous intent as he questioned the two men before him. "Enlighten me on how Severin managed to kill Damian."
Arjun and Amit recounted the events in vivid detail, from Damian's arrival at Merak and the subsequent fatal encounter.
"An elite-quality spiritual treasure and a divine technique consisting of spiritual fire?" Drake's countenance turned ashen upon hearing the information. "He is no small fry, then."
For a level four paragon to defeat someone like Gerry was already considered a remarkable feat, notwithstanding the victor's attainment level. Many of the prodigies who entered the Starry Sky Battlespace could achieve the feat of transcending across higher levels in combat. However, when one's attainment reached the latter stages, then achieving such a feat would be very difficult.
Yet, Severin had accomplished the unthinkable.
Drake knew right away that Severin was no ordinary individual—either he had an extraordinary identity, or harbored a concealed secret. As he recalled Leigh's remark about the lost map, his face turned somber and his eyes turned red with a vengeful glint.
