The bronze halberd in the giant's hand crumbled into dust upon contact with the fearsome sword beam, and so did the giant.
A single strike destroyed that once-mighty giant into a myriad of little fragments.
The relentless sword beam surged toward Sachin at high speed, causing him to feel a profound sense of dread. He realized that it was no longer possible to secure victory over Severin, and his only hope was to make a hasty retreat.
He took a deep breath and bit the tip of his tongue. He then spat out some blood that had been infused with vitality. The blood turned into mist and almost seemed to gain a mind of its own as it melded with the surrounding black fog around him.
Once the mist absorbed Sachin's life essence, it erupted into a towering column of light. Soon, the light formed a massive black skull. Sachin's complexion drained of color after spitting out the blood, and his complexion resembled that of a sick person. He then formed a series of hand seals and used them to manipulate the skull.
"Die!" he commanded, and the skull's jaw opened to produce a strong suction force. With a fierce and ominous glare, a fiery wrath emanated from its gaping jaws, unleashing a deluge of flames swiftly engulfing the sword beam.
A deafening explosion reverberated, and the razor-sharp sword energy tore through the skull. The force left a trail of destruction in its wake, and fractures soon cracked across the skull's surface.
