Several thousand miles away, the sky in Thundlight loomed with dark clouds and crackled with lightning. The nine-headed lion's eyes widened as he gazed across the battlefield at the Eastern Sea in horror. It was not until Grenn vanished into the distance that the lion turned to the handsome young man beside him and said in a huff, "So, Nine-Tails. It seems that your prediction was in error."
Beside him stood Trey, clad who was in silver armor like a warrior standing suspended in the air. "I never imagined that Baldwin was the Ancestora's clone! The fact that a mere level six supreme paragon like Severin could inflict such damage upon Baldwin is nothing short of chilling," Trey muttered in disbelief as the image of Severin's assault replayed in his mind.
As those two were conversing, the nine-tailed fox—who had since taken on the form of a handsome young man donning a green robe—wore a wry smile. He had underestimated Severin, and it turned out that Severin's formidable strength stemmed from having inherited the teachings of the Green Emperor.
The Green Emperor's Pagoda had left those three Monsteroid Kings dumbfounded. The name of the Green Emperor held sway in Bleurealm, and the pagoda—a relic of his enlightenment—was highly-coveted. Unfortunately, several epochs had passed and no one had yet to claim it. Such immortal weapons were sentient and sought worthy wielders, which was surprising given that it appeared in Severin's possession.
After a deep breath, the nine-tailed fox turned towards Grenn's fleeing form. His tone was grave as he spoke. "It seems to me that Severin might be only one who will attain immortality in this golden age."
Trey chuckled and stroked his beard. "Didn't you doubt Severin's abilities earlier? What changed your mind?"
He remembered how certain the fox was of Severin's demise in Baldwin's hands. The result spoke for itself, with Baldwin forced to flee and Severin going from strength to strength.
Trey's teasing left the fox with a rueful smile. "Please do not jest at my expense. If Severin wields the Green Emperor's Pagoda, then he must be the descendent or the disciple of the emperor. Will it be the Ancestora who ascends if he does not?"
