At the same time, Algernon secretly rejoiced that he had not offended Severin too much back in the Starry Sky Battlespace. Otherwise, he might not have survived until then.
Looking at the ruins and devastation behind him which used to be the ancestral land of the Menzie clan, Algernon could not help but feel a sense of desolation. With the Menzie elder's self-destruction and the collapse of thousands of miles of Menzie's territory, the future of the clan would undoubtedly be even more precarious.
Algernon looked ahead at Severin, who was engaged in conversation with several half-immortal elders, and his eyes became filled with determination.
Meanwhile, Severin decided it was time to take his leave since Eastplain was temporarily out of danger. This time, Grandiuno Sacred Land had unleashed a full-scale attack, so if Xavier were unwilling to accept defeat and turned his attention towards attacking the sacred land, the protective forces might not be sufficient.
With this in mind, Severin cupped his fists towards the half-immortal elders before him and said, "Esteemed elders, now that the conflict in Eastplain has ended, it is time for me to report back to my sect."
Seeing Severin preparing to leave, Egbert—who held him in high regard—said gratifiedly, "Severin, since you and your companions have come all the way from Midland, why not stay a while in Eastplain? You can visit our homes and let us extend some hospitality."
Egbert was not saying that just to be polite. With over half of the Eight Great Clan of Eastplain already destroyed, only the Kains, the Gahrrs, the Padillas, and the Estradas remained.
With the loss of over half of the half-immortal powerhouses and the heavy casualties among the disciples of several major families, it would have been difficult for the remaining families to stop Xavier's plan to destroy Eastplain without the timely support from Grandiuno Sacred Land.
