Life After Prison by Silencieux novel Chapter 2912

The wait yielded no further arrivals, and Adrian promptly withdrew his gaze. He turned to Lilou and asked, "Are our friends from Floating Light and Darklight not keen on joining us?"

Lilou was a level nine supreme paragon from the Jade Pond Sacred Land whose strength was on par with that of a half-immortal. Unfortunately, their half half-immortal—the last that came from the Jade Pond Sacred Land—had perished in the Starry Sky Battlespace after pursuing the old wacko.

Lilou shook her head ruefully. "They seem to be more inclined to observe from afar rather than involve themselves in such murky waters."

Lumino, from the Greatflare's royal family, grumbled in discontent, "That's a rather convenient excuse. I wonder if they will find it just as convenient when the Ancestora razes their sacred land to the ground! And just because the Great Thunderbeat Temple is located in the far west doesn't mean it will be able to evade the Ancestoras' invasion!"

Lumino was very outspoken in his dissatisfaction at those who had chosen not to come. He, on the other hand, hastened over without a second thought after receiving Adrian's summon.

Adrian raised his hand to try and diffuse the rising tension. "Since they have refused to join us, we shall have no choice but to proceed without them."

He sat upright and channeled his mana into the Black Dragon Awl. Egbert's remnant soul began to materialize from the weapon. "Egbert," Adrian began, "Could you enlighten us on the events that befell Eastplain as well as their connection to the Ancestora?"

Egbert's remnant soul bowed respectfully before beginning, "My friends... A few days ago, the Kains learned of the Gahrrs' demise and dispatched several of our men to find out what had happened. Unbeknownst to us, Fannerly from the Primordial Sacred Land came bearing a corpse puppet..."

A shiver ran through those present as Egbert recounted the events. They were all gripped by an indescribable unease, and Severin was deeply shaken by the realization that even a half-immortal like Egbert had succumbed to a mere puppet. That alone spoke volumes of the Ancestoras' true power.

Jaxon then asked curiously. "If Xavier was turned into a puppet and that puppet was strong enough to kill a half-immortal, then I wonder if the Ancestora has attained true immortality?"
