Life After Prison by Silencieux novel Chapter 3097

Above the river of time, Rumine strode upon a path made of divine light. His eyes were ablaze with unbridled greed as he looked intently at Callide.

All nine of his heads erupted into shrill, mocking laughter. "Oh, Callide! The Heaven Palace is surrounded by our forces. Those two old bags Lawrence and Libra won't be able to withstand this much longer. I will guarantee your survival if you surrender to us and become my partner. Perhaps you might even get the chance to ascend to the rank of quasi-celestial regent."

Callide rolled her eyes and spat out mercilessly, "Not a chance. It is you who should be surrendering to us. I shall consider sparing your life if you do so."

With a swift motion of her delicate white hands, she unleashed a colorful ribbon that shattered the void and exerted pressure upon the 3,000 paths.

"You're quite the stubborn one, I see!" Rumine grew visibly agitated and snorted. "The Heaven Palace is under siege, and my comrades are mobilizing our ancestors as we speak. Lawrence has his hands full, while the Clear Wind Sect and Tri Celestial Island are both occupied with their own respective threats. Who do you expect will come to your aid? Are you still clinging to hope that Severin—who has been in seclusion for centuries—will suddenly swoop in to save you?"

Rumine's heads wore a contemptuous expression as he mentioned Severin's name. The dark upheaval would not have erupted prematurely had Severin not killed Luther a hundred years prior. Despite a century passing, only three of the Nine Heavens Ten Lands had been invaded—the Devil Realm, the Southern Region, and the Western Region. There was still a long way to go from the grandeur of ancient times.

Rumine's disdain for Severin stemmed from the latter's initiation of the dark upheaval, only to enter a century's worth of seclusion. Despite the Longevity Alliance's strategic position in the Bleu Region, royal celestials that bore extraterrestrial aura faced divine retribution if they crossed those waters. Only the protection of the Green Emperor's Pagoda prevented their advance.
