The combat capabilities of an adult male tiger are extremely formidable. Even a Stone Skin Martial Artist would struggle against it alone. An Iron Skin Martial Artist might have confidence in victory, but facing an extraordinary tiger endowed with unique talents, victory is not guaranteed.
However, with Gu Sheng’s prowess, there was naturally no issue.
Even if this tiger were more robust, Gu Sheng could still handle it. His extraordinary archery was sufficient to grant him an immense innate advantage. Even a Stone Skin Martial Artist paired with archery skills like his could manage, let alone Gu Sheng, who now was close to the Jade Skin Realm.
"It’s right ahead!"
Gu Sheng was fully focused. Though he had great confidence, he wouldn’t let his guard down. Anything could happen in the mountains.
Gu Sheng hunched his body and slowed his steps.
He heard movement.
Parting the leaves, his view suddenly opened up.
Gu Sheng looked ahead and saw a lean tiger with piercing eyes curled up beside the roots of a large tree in the distance. It was just past winter, and this beast had clearly expended much of its energy, no longer appearing as robust.
For some unknown reason, it had wandered out of the deep forest and roamed in the area for some time, as evident from the traces left behind.
The tiger’s black-and-yellow mottled stripes covered its body, and the distinct "king" pattern on its forehead was bold and domineering.
At this moment, the tiger’s eyes were slightly closed, snoring faintly through its nose. Evidently, it was sleeping, with its iron-like tail subtly swaying behind it.
Gu Sheng gradually calmed his mind.
This was a prime opportunity!
The tiger lay in deep slumber before him.
At some point, his longbow had silently made its way into Gu Sheng’s hand. With no distractions in his mind, his eagle-like eyes sharpened. The bowstring was effortlessly drawn into a perfect crescent moon. Since becoming an Iron Skin Martial Artist, the four-stone bow now felt like an extension of his arm.
Swish!
A sharp, faint whistling sound broke through the forest, as the arrow shot forth like a streak of lightning, crossing the hundred-pace distance instantly!
The arrowhead spun at high speed, faintly trailing white currents of air, carrying a terrifying penetrative force aimed right at the tiger’s right eye.
As soon as the first arrow was shot, Gu Sheng wasted no time; another arrow already slid into his fingers.
Roar!!
From the distance came a fierce, resonant roar. The tiger’s roar reverberated through the forest, its might unmatched!
Animals naturally have keener senses than humans. As the king of the jungle, the tiger’s perception likely surpassed even some Iron Skin Martial Artists. Even in slumber, it remained alert to its surroundings.
As the arrow whistled toward it, the tiger’s eyes snapped open, radiating an intimidating killing aura.
The tiger’s muscular form stretched, its previously curled-up body instantly twisting and springing upward. Gu Sheng saw clearly — the beast’s body was nearly ten feet long, with a shoulder height exceeding three feet.
The tiger reacted with incredible speed, but Gu Sheng ultimately had the upper hand. His first-level Penetration archery skill was remarkable.
