While Feng Lin dug the soil, Dong Huang moved it to the side. The two of them were so focused on digging the ginseng that they didn’t notice the blue sky slowly turning into a red hue.

When they finally finished, there was a big hole in the ground. Feng Lin picked up the ginseng and carefully placed it inside the bamboo basket. The soil wrapped around the ginseng’s main body was left intact to prevent damage.

Dong Huang quickly put the soil back into the hole, even gathering some from another area to make the ground more even. They stomped on the soil until it hardened, then picked some wild vegetables to cover the ginseng inside the bamboo basket.

After they finished, Feng Lin said, "Xiao Huang, let’s go find your Mother."

Knowing it was dangerous to carry such a treasure, Dong Huang nodded readily. The two of them didn’t take the village road but used a hidden path instead.

It took them forty minutes to reach Li Chenmo’s house.

When they entered from the backyard, Li Chenmo saw them and asked, "Xiao Huang, are you back from the mountain foothills?"

Seeing her father, Dong Huang smiled and nodded, "Father, Ah Lin and I went to gather some mushrooms."

"Uncle Li," Feng Lin greeted him.

Li Chenmo wiped water droplets from his face and said, "Father will help you clean the mushrooms, then we can make dinner."

Hearing this, Dong Huang walked over to her father and tugged at his sleeve.

Seeing this, Li Chenmo squatted down and asked, "Xiao Huang, what’s wrong?"

Leaning closer, Dong Huang whispered, "Father, we didn’t bring back mushrooms, but we found wild ginseng."

Li Chenmo was taken aback by his daughter’s words. He clearly remembered that his wife had scattered wild ginseng in the mountain forest. If his daughter had found ginseng, didn’t that mean she had gone into the mountain?
