Pedro walked in and saw her crying.

Kathryn sat up and buried herself in his arms. “Pedro, you’re all I have.” 

He held her close, his voice filled with tenderness. “Kathryn, I will always be here for you. No matter what happens, I’ll stand by your side. Even if the sky falls, I’ll hold it up for you. If you need to cry, then cry. Let it all out.” 

This was her final farewell to the past. 

Kathryn sobbed until she could cry no more. 

From this moment on, she and the Janzen family were nothing to each other.

Facing his daughters-in-law, he declared, “I’m sure you both know what happened by now. My sons hurt Kathryn, but she’s fine—just a few minor wounds. It was just a fight between siblings.
