Chapter 142 Too Late
An abrupt ringtone interrupted the tense standoff.
Seeing that it was from the person he had asked to investigate Abigail's whereabouts, Anthony quickly answered the call.
"Did you find her?"
"We did! She was taken by John, but luckily, Mr. Fitzgerald intervened. She's safe now."
Relieved to hear that Abigail was safe, Anthony felt the weight on his chest finally lifted.
No wonder Marcus' phone was unreachable. He had gone to rescue Abigail as the hero.
"Okay, I understand."
Anthony breathed a sigh of relief and turned to Olivia, saying, "We can leave now."
Olivia, puzzled, blinked. "Where are we going? Aren't we looking for Ms. Winchester anymore?"
"Home," Anthony replied mysteriously.
Felix, unable to catch the critical part, was anxious. He pressed Anthony. "You found her? Where is she? Is she safe?"
"None of your concern," Anthony said deliberately.
Felix grabbed his collar again, getting in his face, his expression fierce. "Anthony, you better not push me. I'm capable of anything."
Anthony put on a frightened act, dramatically clutching his chest. "I'm so scared! Bring it on if you dare!"
"Anthony!" Felix glared at him.
Anthony, however, felt a sense of satisfaction.
"I can tell you the address, but if you arrive after me, it's not my fault you missed your chance!"
"Alright. What is it?"
Anthony gave Felix the address. Fearful of being left behind, Felix quickly got in his car and sped off.
Olivia was still confused and asked, "Mr. Harrison, aren't you giving him a chance to play the hero? What if Ms. Winchester doesn't want to see him?"
Anthony chuckled, "Don't worry. He won't see Abigail!"
Olivia was even more bewildered.
Anthony explained, "Abigail has already been rescued and is safe. She's with her husband now. You can head back."
"Really? Thank goodness!"
Olivia finally felt relieved.
