Selina raised an eyebrow, thoroughly enjoying the spectacle.
Butler Lee was utterly stunned, staring at Katie in disbelief.
"Madam, I’ve been loyal to you! How could you—"
"Shut up! I clearly misjudged you!" Katie snapped viciously at the guards. "What are you waiting for? Drag him out of here!"
In that instant, Butler Lee realized he had been abandoned.
A wave of bitter resentment surged through him—after everything he had done for Katie, how could she discard him like trash?!
His rage exploded as he struggled against the guards.
"You wretched bitch! I was taking the fall for you, and you’re throwing me away like a useless pawn?! It was you who destroyed Mrs. Adams’ designs! You and Natalia, you filthy—Ah!"
Before he could finish, Natalia’s face twisted in horror.
She couldn’t let him keep talking.
In a flash, she grabbed a fruit knife and stabbed it straight into Butler Lee’s shoulder.
"The Clark Family treated you well, and this is how you repay us? Get out!"
Selina clicked her tongue, unimpressed. "Wow, Natalia, that’s ruthless. He practically raised you, and you didn’t even hesitate."
Katie’s expression was dark and unreadable. "Butler Lee admitted his crime. Are you satisfied now?"
Selina simply turned, tugging Logan along as they left.
"Mr. Clark," she called back casually, "you should keep an eye on your wife. Before she brings even greater disaster upon you."
As Selina walked away, Katie’s temper finally snapped.
"You filthy little bitch! Worthless mutt! What a curse you are—why does the Clark Family have to suffer this disgrace—Ah! James, you hit me!"
Slap!
A loud, resounding slap landed across Katie’s face, stunning everyone into silence.
James’s eyes were bloodshot, his voice shaking with fury.
"Who gave you permission to destroy Victoria’s designs?! Didn’t I make it clear that her things were off limits?!"
Katie, now flustered, tried to explain, "I... James, listen to me! Destroying those designs was the safest option. Otherwise, the Carter Family wouldn’t let it go. You know how important they were to them! I did this for you—"
"For me? Or because of your own jealousy? Don’t insult my intelligence!"
James shot her a venomous glare before storming out in rage.
Grandpa Clark watched everything unfold, exhaustion lining his features.
How had things come to this?
Years ago, before Katie arrived, his son had been respectful, his daughter-in-law was intelligent, and little Selina had been a sweet, well-behaved child. The family had been whole.
But now...
Now, everything was ruined.
And there was no going back.
His eyes followed Selina’s retreating figure, and with a deep sigh, he hurried after her.
...
"Selina, wait!"
Selina turned her head slightly, raising an eyebrow.
"Something you need, Grandpa?"
Grandpa Clark cleared his throat awkwardly. "Would it be possible for Mr. Reid to step aside for a moment?"
Logan’s expression remained utterly indifferent.
"Selina is my wife. What could you possibly want to say that I can’t hear?"
Grandpa Clark’s face twitched. Having no other choice, he turned back to Selina.
"Selina, I heard about what happened at the bridal boutique. Natalia and Ryan’s wedding is already set in stone. No matter what, she is still your sister. Can’t you do her a favor and apologize to Mr. Turner on her behalf?"
Selina raised an unimpressed brow.
"Natalia offended Kevin herself. He doesn’t want to forgive her. Why should I apologize? Do I owe her something?"
Grandpa Clark’s expression darkened. "You and Kevin are friends. Can’t you be the bigger person?"
Selina laughed lightly.
"I know Kevin, but why should my connections be wasted on an illegitimate daughter?"
Grandpa Clark’s face hardened. "Selina! Old Mr. Carter has never liked Natalia. At least with Kevin’s wedding dress, she’ll have a little more dignity when she marries into the Carter Family—"
Selina cut him off with a casual wave of her hand.
"If she’s so worried about being mistreated in the Carter Family, why not just break off the engagement?"
