- Lambert leaves hospital
Good.
It was really good, so that everything could come to a successful end.
The next day. Alice heard the news of Lambert's discharge.
Inside the hospital, Alice and William were sunbathing on the balcony. The warmth of the sun made people feel comfortable.
William touched her stomach and was about to ask if she was feeling well. At this time, Lambert came to bid his farewells with his luggage.
Alice came out of William's embrace and stood on the balcony and looked at Lambert. Her gaze landed on the suitcase beside William and couldn't help but frown.
Lambert stood there with an expressionless face. His tone was relatively calm as he said, "Mr. Cullen, I've been discharged from the hospital and say good bye to you."
"Discharge?" Alice was shocked, "But your injuries have not completely recovered. How can you be discharged?"
"I am a doctor, and I know my body's condition. Thank you for your concern, Mrs. Cullen." Lambert said indifferently, and his aloofness still present on his face.
Alice was startled. Did he only make such a decision yesterday, after she had told the story of York and David?
"Mr. Cullen, thank you for saving me. I have no way to repay you. If you need any help in the future then tell me. I'll be leaving first." After saying that, he pulled the suitcase along with him and turned around.
"Dr. Lambert."
Alice frowned, and she did not know what to say. But when she turned and she saw that William was still lying on the chair comfortably basking in the sun. He was truly ...
Even if they came to bid him farewell, he would not make a sound.
Alice clenched his sleeves, William looked at her in dissatisfaction, "What are you doing, can you block him from the hell?"
Hell?
Alice was startled, "What?"
William lazily squinted his eyes. He took her hand and gave her a kiss. His voice low and sexy, "Lancaster suffered such a huge humiliation this time, how can they just let Lambert go? Once he leave this hospital, and he'll be a dead man."
Hearing that, Alice came to a sudden realization and immediately called out to Lambert, "Dr. Lambert, then you can't leave this place. It's best for you to rest in peace to recuperate from your injuries."
Lambert had already taken a few steps forward. But upon hearing those words, he turned his head and looked at Alice, "Thank you for your concern, but I have already made my decision."
"If you go out, you will die. Why don't you stay in the Cullen Family?"
She had heard from Elizabeth that they were in need of a doctor. Lambert could find work in the Cullen Family.
"No need." He couldn't stay any longer.
In the past, David could pretend that he knew nothing and act dumb to the end, but now that everything had been exposed. How could he pretend to be stupid?
"Dr. Lambert!"
"When I had nothing, Lancaster gave me the food. I swore that I would never betray Lancaster. If they wanted to kill me, I would only give my life back to them." There was a trace of stubbornness in his tone.
"Oh, my brother risked half his life to save you, and you're going to die?" William sarcastically sneered. Then he stood up from the reclining chair and looked at Lambert with a sharp gaze. "Looks like my Cullen Family's kindness is completely not worth mentioning."
Alice looked at William, then looked at Lambert.
In the end, he lowered his posture and said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Cullen. I am very grateful to Cullen Family for saving me, but I really do not want to stay in Cullen Family and David will not want to see me either."
It was indeed because of David.
Alice pursed her lips, turned her eyes and looked at William, waiting for his reply. William raised her voice, "Frank."
Lambert looked at William with a puzzled expression. Frank stood there and explained, "Dr. Lambert, this is a fake identity that Young Master has prepared for you. We will escort you out of the country and live your life using your new identity to ensure your safety."
Lambert could not hide the shock in his eyes. "Mr. Cullen, this ..."
Cullen Family had done too much for him.
Alice also looked at William in shock. She did not expect William to do so many things silently. William walked step by step towards Lambert, his black eyes were cold as he reached out to flick the document in his hand and said, "Remember your words. From today onwards, you do not owe Lancaster a favor. When our Cullen Family needs a doctor, then you will immediately come back to me!"
William said that he was in need of a doctor, but all he did was to leave a doctor for Alice.
Lambert nodded his head as he held the document and said, "My life was saved by the Cullen Family. I will await your orders at any time. Good bye."
Lambert lowered his head to William and then politely bowed his head to Alice. With one hand holding the documents and the other pulling the luggage, he walked out.
Alice stood there, quietly looking at Lambert's back.
This person was not in their lives from the beginning. He was supposed to travel for gaining some insights and live a peaceful life. But he was turned upside down by them time and time again. In the end, he even had to say 'thank you for saving my life¹.
When Alice thought of this, she felt a little upset. She lifted her leg and walked to the door, looking at Lambert's back. She raised her voice and said, "Dr. Lambert, you're a good doctor. Thank you for taking care of me."
Lambert stopped in his tracks and stood there for a long time. Then, he turned his head to look at Alice with profound eyes, "There is one thing that I have never misread, and that is that Mr. Cullen truly dares to do anything for you."
