Chapter 431: Vague Images

Seeing their speechless reactions, Yao Ran chuckled, but her amusement was short-lived as she noticed a bright fire in the dark sky.

Her gaze sharpened as the bright fire got close to them at a very fast speed. Before she could react, Quan Yuanwei got a very bad premonition and suddenly warned, "Stop the car!"

Hearing his warning, Sima Yun slammed the brakes and turned the steering wheel.

Bang!

A split second later, something crashed to the ground, crushing the deformed monsters ahead and triggering a deafening explosion.

Boom!

"Hold on!"

The heat wave from the explosion hit just a second after Sima Yun's warning.

Whoosh!

The blast of wind swept over the armored vehicle, shaking it momentarily before everything calmed down.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Yao Ran looked around and asked, "Is everyone alright?"

"Yes," Quan Yuanwei replied, looking outside. Staring at the still-burning object, he asked, "What is that?"

Without needing to inspect it closely, Yao Ran already knew the answer. She unbuckled her seatbelt, opened the door, and stepped out.

Seeing her approach the burning object, the others also got out of the armored vehicle and followed her.

Standing three meters away from the fallen satellite, Yao Ran could feel the heat radiating from the fire, a stark difference from the cold weather. The flames illuminated the surroundings as she inspected the satellite.

A few moments later, she noticed something written on it.

"Sister-in-law, what is this thing?" Ding Jianfeng asked curiously as he approached her.

"It's a satellite from the Maple Country," Yao Ran replied, shifting her gaze from the fallen satellite.

The others stared in surprise after listening to what she said. Ding Jianfeng stepped closer for a better look and exclaimed, "Heaven! It really is a satellite from the Maple Country!"

Guan Haotian was a little skeptical about Ding Jianfeng's words, so he took a step forward. "Let me see, let me see."

While the group inspected the satellite, Quan Yuanwei suddenly looked up and said urgently, "We need to leave this place now."

The moment he spoke, everyone turned to look at him.

Seeing his anxious looks, Yao Ran said, "Let's go."

Noticing Quan Yuanwei still staring tensely at the dark sky, Sima Yun grabbed his wrist and pulled him along. Once everyone was inside the armored car, Sima Yun stepped on the accelerator and sped away.

Two minutes later, more satellites began falling from the sky.

Ma Benshun, peering out the window, pointed at the fallen satellites. "Look, another one just fell."

The others glanced up just in time to see over a dozen satellites plummeting simultaneously. As their expressions grew grim, Quan Yuanwei suddenly spoke. "A Yun, get off the highway now."

Trusting Quan Yuanwei's predictive ability, Sima Yun didn't hesitate. He crashed through the road railing, driving off the highway. Seconds later, a satellite smashed into the spot they had just left.

Bang!

Watching the explosion behind them, Yao Ran asked, "Brother Quan, can we safely reach the checkpoint?"

Quan Yuanwei closed his eyes briefly before replying, "Follow this route. There will be some mutants or deformed monsters, but nothing too dangerous."
