Once he finished reading the report, the man in glasses looked up and met Yao Ran's gaze. When he saw her glaring at him, the man placed his palm against the cold glass tube.
With only the glass between them, he said, "Younger Sister, how do you feel today?"
Since she couldn't speak, Yao Ran could only glare at him with a burning hatred.
Noticing the resentment in her eyes, the man frowned slightly. He turned to the others and asked coldly, "What did you guys do to her? Did you torture her?"
At his question, the others broke into a cold sweat.
An elderly man took a step forward and quickly explained, "Director, we wouldn't dare. We have only been monitoring her data. We haven't started the experiment yet. We dare not touch her without your permission."
Hearing this, the man ignored the old researcher and turned back to Yao Ran.
A faint smile appeared on his lips as he gently said, "Younger Sister, when all of this is over, I will marry you. Grandpa always said he wanted to see us with a bunch of children. If we have children together, they would surely be very cute and lovely."
Yao Ran's eyes flickered for a moment as a thought crossed her mind. 'This man... knew Grandpa? Who is he?'
Seeing that she was still glaring at him, the man sighed. He traced her face from the outside and smiled, "I will visit you again after I finish my work."
With that, he turned and left with the group of researchers.
The moment the heavy metal door shut behind them, the space around her distorted. The scene twisted before Yao Ran's eyes, making her dizzy. Instinctively, she closed them.
A few moments later, the dizziness faded. When she reopened her eyes, she was no longer inside the glass tube. Instead, she was tied to a bed, with countless wires and tubes connecting her body to medical equipment.
Realizing where she was, Yao Ran struggled against the cold metal restraints clamping her wrists and ankles.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
She kept pulling, ignoring the pain, until her wrists and ankles were covered in blood-but she still couldn't break free.
Beep! Pshh~
Hearing the sound of the door opening, she stopped struggling. Yao Ran turned her head and saw two men in protective suits enter, carrying a metal tray filled with a dozen syringes containing various colored liquids.
Her body tensed at this sight. Subconsciously, her body trembled as those men approached her.
One of the men placed the metal tray on a small table beside the bed. When he had arranged the syringe, another man opened a book and said, "Let's begin."
At his signal, the other man picked up a syringe and injected the green liquid into Yao Ran's body. A second later, her entire body felt like it was burning from the inside out.
"Ahh!"
Her screams echoed through the white room as the two men calmly observed her vitals and recorded data. Minutes later, one of them noticed Yao Ran's body convulsing from the pain. "Vitals are stable. The body accepted the wood element ability. Continue." He calmly said. "Yes, Professor."
Yao Ran gasped weakly as she watched the man pick up another syringe and inject a red liquid into her veins. Clenching her teeth, she braced herself for the next wave of pain.
This time, as the red liquid coursed through her body, she felt her internal organs being shredded to pieces. Seconds later, blood gushed from her mouth, nose, eyes, and ears.
