Clenching his jaw, the chief bodyguard hoisted the young master onto his back and commanded, "Hold her off!"
Without wasting any more time, he rushed toward the door.
Seeing this, Yao Ran sneered. "Running away? In your dreams."
The moment she said this, vines shot out from her palm and slammed the door shut.
Bam!
Swish~ Swish~ Swish~
A second later, the vines intertwined, sealing the exit and blocking anyone from entering or leaving.
Seeing that his way out was blocked, the chief bodyguard had no choice but to stop on his track. Turning back to face Yao Ran, he commanded with determination to die to protect his young master, "Protect the Second Young Master!"
At his order, the remaining bodyguards formed a protective line in front of the chief bodyguard.
While they watched Yao Ran with vigilance and fear, she slowly stood up and looked at them. After staring at them for a while, she suddenly laughed.
"Ha ha ha ha!"
Startled by her sudden outburst, the bodyguards tightened their grip on their weapons, ready to use their abilities at any moment.
Carrying the young master on his back, the chief bodyguard clenched his fists as he looked at Yao Ran warily.
After laughing for a while, Yao Ran's expression abruptly changed. Without giving them time to react, she activated her water element ability and controlled the blood within the bodyguards and the young master.
In the next second, they all fell to their knees, groaning in pain as the temperature of their blood slowly rose.
Still carrying the young master, the chief bodyguard endured the agony of his boiling internal organs.
"Cough!" Blood sipped out from his lips as he raised his eyes to look at Yao Ran and pleaded, "P–please spare the Second Young Master's life."
Hearing this, Yao Ran merely looked at him coldly.
Realizing that she didn't have any intention to let them go, the chief bodyguard closed his eyes in regret. 'If I had stopped the Second Young Master yesterday, none of this would be happening today.'
Though he regretted his inaction deeply, nothing could change their fate since there was no medicine for regret in this world.
Just as the temperature of their blood reached a critical level, Yao Ran's communication device suddenly beeped.
Beep!
Hearing the incoming call notification, Yao Ran paused and pressed the device on her left ear. A second later, she calmly said, "This is Yao Ran."
In the next second, Long Yu's voice came through. "Ran Ran, are you coming back for lunch?"
The sound of his voice instantly dispelled Yao Ran's murderous intent.
She glanced at the young master and bodyguards, her eyes flashing with warning before she gently replied, "Mhm, I will go back for lunch. A Yu, are you done with your meeting?"
