Natural Disasters Strikes: I stockpiled like crazy! novel Chapter 21

Chapter 21: Mutated Salacca

Nanzhi spent the time in the virtual farm, harvesting those ripened crops and sowing a new batch.

The first batch had given her 45 tons of assorted vegetables and fruits.

Lu Nanzhi was now focusing on cold energy crops like buckwheat, soy beans, oats, mung beans, cucumber, plantains, celery, watermelon, dragon fruit, banana, daikon, peaches, and persimmon. She harvested a total of 7 tons as of this date.

With these, she can make cold mung bean soup, mung bean cake, cold tofu, smashed cucumber salad, fruit salad, smoothies, cold noodles, and many more.

The mechanism for fruit-growing trees that are perennial is that after the fruit tree matures and bears mature fruits, it will replenish three more times before becoming a pile of withered wood.

The pile of wood was instantly transferred to her inventory, and new fruit seeds were needed to plant in the plot.

[Olive Tree Firewood X23]

Grapes and berries didn't follow the same rule. After one harvest, they didn't leave any dead branches. Nanzhi reckoned that they may have become compost for the farm.

In regards to the medicinal plants, only the sunflower, chrysanthemum, bitter melon, chamomile, goji berry, and those non-perennial plants had been sickled.

It would take another week to months for the rest of the first batch to grow, especially the ginsengs.

Every plot, per batch, required 5–10 packs of seeds to grow. In just one month, her stocks of seeds depleted to less than 60%, which made her remember about the Virtual Farm function that she hadn't tried—[Seeding].

This function only appeared when the crop is mature.

Coincidentally, there was still a plot of mung beans she hadn't collected.

Nanzhi tapped on the [Seeding] option above it.

The specific plot turned gray, and a countdown of three hours appeared.

Nanzhi patiently waited.

In the meantime, she searched for the interesting plant she obtained from the nursery shop and found it on the 49th plot.

From a withered plant, it already grew into a spiny palm; on its trunk were flowers.

The name was no longer unknown but this—[Tier 1 Mutated Salacca: Time until Harvest: 20 days: 10 hours: 43 minutes]

Nanzhi felt that the palm was somewhat familiar, like she had seen this one before but couldn't remember it.

Three hours passed. Out of the one plot of mung beans, she gained 4 catties of dried mung beans.

In this case, she didn't need to make a second trip to the seed market.

Another four passed; her plane stopped for a layover at the Emerald City in Country H.

This city was known for its crystal-clear beach. It had the highest annual number of tourists in the whole country.

Sadly, during the super typhoon, the bay area also recorded one of the most casualties because of the surge and tsunami.

Nanzhi saw a lot of families with their kids wearing summer shorts and shirts excitedly discussing the beach. The little girl was playing with her ball. It slipped out of her hands and rolled to Nanzhi's feet.

The little girl skipped and ran with her little legs, reminding Nanzhi of Lin Yicheng. She picked up the ball and gave it to the little girl.

The freckled little girl spoke in a foreign language that Nanzhi could understand: "Sister, thank you!"
