Natural Disasters Strikes: I stockpiled like crazy! novel Chapter 52

On the morning of the 21st day after the first rainfall, the mass of dark clouds that covered the whole sky of S country disappeared, replaced by a clear sky and the sun that everyone had taken for granted.

This brought renewed hope for the despairing people.

The remaining survivors went out of their balconies and roofs letting themselves bathed in the sun rays. Some were laughing and crying.

"Mom! I never thought I would see the sun again!"

"I used to complain about the hot weather but now I’ll never whine about it!"

"Sun buddy! Where have you been all this time? I missed you so much!"

With the sun finally showing up, the flood waters will dry and they will be able to get out of here!

There should be some places that are not affected by the flood and still functioning with food and water! If they can go there, they will be saved.

Their thoughts aligned to this statement never knowing this was only the first of many more disasters to come.

The states of the survivors were very not very optimistic.

Their bodies had become thinner. The hollows under their eyes more prominent, their cheeks sunken people, and their lips parched and had dried scabs.

They had only held on until now because of the discounted food, water, and other items and it won’t be long for the remaining supplies to run out.

But compared to her experience before regression, the numbers of Pearl City survivors were greater than the Jade City.

Just the numbers of survivors in this building alone were already more than a hundred, twice or thrice the numbers of the survivors from her past life.

In the broken window of the staircase, Nanzhi used the 14x optics military binoculars with the maximum effective range of 4, 000 meters to spy on the tall buildings just across the streets.

She can see 3-4 people looking outside of the balconies of the 10th and higher floors.

Just then, there were loud distinct sounds of rotating rotors. Nanzhi raised the binoculars and saw dozens of helicopters and jets gliding on the horizon.

She recognized the models. She saw some of their scraps in the auction and they were warplanes and combat planes.

If she was not wrong, they were heading for the direction of the capital.

The survivors were beyond happy to see the helicopters. Their waves their hands, shouting for help and made SOS signs on the roofs but the aircrafts only passed by.

Aircrafts consumed a lot of fuel unless it was absolutely necessary, the military would not use it for sporadic rescue.

They will probably wait for the flood water to completely recede before sending the military or sent news through radio signals.

Having seen enough, Nanzhi returned to her unit and turned on the radio.

She spent more than ten minutes to retune the frequencies and was able to pick up a signal.

As expected it was from the military, they were telling survivors about the location of settlements in Pearl City.

Nanzhi listened carefully and found out that there were actually three main settlements in the whole Pearl City, one established at military base, the other was in a bomb shelter a kilometre away from Qianhe Mountain, and the last one is in the government-owned community center.

Nanzhi easily found their locations in the virtual map.

She took a note of them and planned to visit them later as she would still need to go to another location first. freewēbnoveℓ.com
